Cloak & Dagger VS Invisibility Watch!

Invisibility watch. Cloak and Dagger just doesn't last long enough, and camping at one spot waiting for someone to pass by isn't really my thing.

In my opinion CaD triumphs over the regular watch hands down cos it lets you wait for that one valuable target. But on the other hand the regular watch does last a bit longer.

CnD, although I use the dead ringer sometimes too, generally to knock out a sg, or use it against medics who come after you

I like CnD because you can stay alive much longer, and spawncamp

CnD is only good if your on offense and the defense is holding with a lot of sentries. Just communicate with your team for a push/uber and you can sit and wait until they are ready for you to sap.

Any other situation, the Invisibility watch trumps both. You move farther faster and thus lets you do more damage.

I'm with Ballzac - it's situational.

CnD is great to sit and call out position when you're on offense.

A good tip for the CnD is to crouch walk and not run normally.

You move slower but it uses MUCH less energy or whatever you want to call it. You can go much further in this way.

I try to run out of the immediate danger zones and then crouch walk from then on.

Using this tactic you'll get a lot more mileage out of the CnD and frankly I hated it until I learned about this (credit Zaw)

Well, im good with the deadringer. You just need to know how to use it.
Some people dont like it, but it works for me

Depends on the map. On maps like Blackmesa with metal/ammo pickups aplenty, I usually use the normal one. On maps with more corners to hide behind and obstacles and lots of cover, then the Cloak and Dagger turns into a waiting game with a (hopefully) positive outcome.

I feel I can get behind the targets and get more kills dealt faster with the ability to move for greater distances. this combines with the knowledge of metals around the map makes for an uncomparable triumph over the more may i say less skill carrying Cloak and Dagger.

IW All the way, I don't see any point in using CnD. You sit..and you sit.. and wait for them. Then when you get caught you really can't go anywhere. I'd rather rush in stab 3 people and cloak out with my fully filled cloak bar from all the metal.

Plus I know all the metal spots in the maps, so I just run over and grab those, i'm usually cloaked for a pretty long time.

I can just waltz right into your base and then sit there and watch you. and make you very paranoid.

also, i found the cnd drains slower if you crouch walk. XD so you can go twice as far.

CC raises a really good point I noticed about myself with the CnD.

I sit and sit and sit until an opportune moment arrives and tend to stay sitting too long.

Regular IW doesn't allow you to do this and I find it not only more exciting, but it makes you think quicker on your feet because you can't just pause in the corner. You've got to always be on your toes or be prepared to sell your disguise to the opposing team.

The invisibility watch is far superior to the CnD and dead ringer in everyway. The cloak and dagger tends to make you... lazy for the lack of a better word. You'll sit there in a base waiting and waiting and you could still be killed by a random Pyro. And the crouch walk idea is fairly stupid because it doesn't let you go twice as far because you're moving twice as slow. It just gives you less room for error because you cannot dodge quicker

The regular watch can allow you to be invisible forever if you know what you're doing. Of course permanent invisibility means you aren't stabbing or sapping things. The Dead Ringer is fun and very situational. But 5.5 seconds of invisibility isn't enough.

I use the regular, I don't like CnD's fast drain when running and I certainly don't like waiting 500 years to move another inch while crouching. Sure, it's fun for a while, practical? No.

C&D is useful for certain situations, but by and large, the better spies will like the normal watch for it's longer cloak and quick recharge via metal abilities
