Upgrading Instead

Yeah, it should fit with no problems. My mobo is a ?ATX too and it's inside a m-ATX case :)

I cannot stress enough DO NOT BUY A XFX Motherboard!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I had one that was total garbage. There were so many problems with the BIOS that it was throwing Error Codes that the Techs had no idea what they were. Their tech support consists of having to register, then open trouble tickets, then wait for a 48 hour turn around for an answer.
Or call the 888 number, wait on hold for about 30 minutes just to be told by the "tech" that he has never heard of the bios codes it throws so i could send it in, wait up to 3 weeks for testing and a refurb board sent back. They have a very small support forum on someone elses website that is a joke at best. Go with an ASUS board, Check Newegg for the board reviews. They can tell you ALOT

I didn't think of this until yesterday, but since I'm getting a new motherboard any way, should I get an Intel Core 2 Duo or should I stick with an AMD 64X2?

If the price isn't a big issue C2D's absolutely demolish 64X2 series chips.

E8400/8500 should last you a good while. (They still place in the top of most games benchmarks compared to lower clocked quads as very few games utilize quads, none properly aside from GTA4). You wouldn't be disappointed :D

100% the intel setup if your willing to spend the extra cash. Far more powerful processor that should last you a couple years (possibly more if you decide to OC)

Won't be disappointed with that setup.
