Spectating during the night

Guys, we have 3 new servers, and they need to be filled up. Not just during the day, but at night as well.

All it takes, is you to connect to the server, and click "Spectate". After that... go to sleep.

It is currently 1:43 am my time, and there are 0 people on all 3 of our new servers.

Ill be spectating the night, i hope i see some people spectating 2morrow.

i try to spectate but my internet just laggs me out every 2 hours or so :/ but im about to go to stock maps while im at school but i agree oldie

I don't spectate over night for three reasons:

1) Cost - the additional electricity from having a PC contstantly on and doing a high energy activity such as gaming can increase your electricity costs upwards of ?150 pound a year

2) Noise - My PC is quite loud and it is in my bedroom so it could make sleeping a problem

3) Heat - My bedroom is quite hot and to have the heat of a PC as well when I am sleeping is not good. Also, I have heard you can reduce the life span of your components by having them constantly in use, and I can't afford to be buying new ones.

So overall I spectate sometimes during the day when I'm working but I won't do it at night unfortunately. However I thank everyone who does for keeping the server rankings up.

i spec every night i can.. just depends if i get kicked from the server or css crashes when im afk.

I can't spectate at night either.


My computer is in my bedroom and my monitor is way to bright. If I turn off my monitor my internet goes out, turning down my monitor lights still doesn't make that much of a difference

If you minimize the game after going to spectate, it is almost as if the game is not running. I can do that on my laptop, without my cooling pad on and its temperature will remain constant, as if Css wasn't running. When minimized, Css would only use up your Processor, not graphics card. Thats why it takes so long to bring any source game back up when minimized.

i don't know why, but for the past week or so i've been getting timed out. but i almost always hop on, and i've been assigned to italy so i'll be spectating there instead of dust for a good while

Its not just the new servers but all of them. I always wake up seeing the office server empty

Well I wish i could help with this problem, I can't wait to see the new servers. I am hopefully going to have a new computer in the next few months.

I'm sorry, but my laptop that i use for gaming just broke, most likely because of playing too long. I fear that if I keep the game on all night I'll wake up just to find another broken laptop. I'm going to need to play for shorter periods of time once my laptop gets replaced.

I'll try my best but I always close my computer at night, because I had several ( 10 in total) network attacks when I was not there and the computer was open.
