Good RPG

Rpg

I liked The Witcher and I am playing The Last Remnant now. It is fun, but the combat system takes getting used to. If the battle units are not set up right the game is very hard and frustrating. Morrowind is a great game. It kicked every video card out there when it was first released with some of the most advanced A.I. interaction as well. I played over 100 hours on Morrowind and once played for 12 hours straight. The two expansion packs that came out right after were nice too. I would rather have great game play over a lousy story that looks good. Play demos.

i would also recommend the witcher
on the other hand stay away from prototype, that game is incredibly ugly
and if you really have to try the last remnant, it has a boring battle system and the plot is riddled with holes (there is a plot hole within the first 5 minutes, seriously)

im trying a witcher demo as soon as its done dling. got a demo for mount and blade and the combat AI seems terrible and i have no idea what to do in the world map.

Ironically i have Two Worlds but only played it for like 20 minutes. I didnt think i liked it that much.

Im on the fence about starting a new Oblivion game but that seems like a waste since i already did everything in that game. Morrowind can be alright if i can get the graphics to work. Ill see how i like the witcher demo....heard some good reviews.

well i got the witcher demo....the game seems really well done i just cant get into the combat system. I wish it was more of a free style of combat as opposed to a "click when u see the cursor" type of combat. Oblivion's combat was much better. Looking for a game similar to that. Anyone got anything?

Ehh you should probably change your outlook on what's "good graphics" if you want to play good rpg's. Some of the best RPG's are NOT 360/PS3 games. One of my all-time favorite rpg's is Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic. Yeah it's relatively old, it came out 99/00 IIRC and the graphics aren't anywhere near current-gen is at, but that doesn't make it bad.

Just trying to say gameplay > graphics.

well i dont really play rpgs that much, but if you're looking for a good one lower your graphic expectations - after year 2000 good rpgs started to disappear. Morrowind is probably one of the best i've played (you can play it forever hehe), Fallout is pretty good...

well if it doesnt look nice i cant really enjoy it lol. The only things i make exceptions for is FF games. While the new ones look great, the older FF's (FFVII and FFIX) are way better.

My favorite RPG ive ever played in my life is Final Fantasy 9. Best game of all time. Graphics arnt good at all tho lol. old game. I have FF12, i stopped playing it like half way thru and i forget why. Maybe ill start a new game.

Ahhh, you too?!?! I loved FFIX, it's the only reason i still have a PS1. Check out a lot of the free MMORPGs, most of them are really good, and you don't have to pay a penny, unless you want to. Explore your options though, you don't want to spend 5 hours dling a game, 2 more for patches, and find out you don't like it.

The Witcher was decent, but it had too much running from one side of the map to the other over and over again.

Mass Effect?

Btw, Prototype is awesome, but is nothing like Oblivion, more action 3rd person game with a story.

Try to find a copy of Legend of the Dragoon. Amazing game, its for PS1.

Also, just throwing this out there, Dungeons and Dragons online is free now. I downloaded the whole game in 5 minutes and it runs great on a bootcamped windows vista. I thought it was horrible, but it is free soooo yeah. I had to wait about 1 day for my beta invite for the free version.

what are some good free MMORPGs? that look nice too? :)

Well you seem like a middle ages kind of person for RPGs, most of the one's i've played are like fantasy...but, here are a few that i personally liked, for a little while anyway (I can't get into an MMO unless I start with a friend or something.)
Rohan, Corum Online, Perfect World, MapleStory(Kinda kiddish, and 2D, but I really enjoyed it) Kal Online, Flyff(Looks cartoony, but still pretty fun)

Age of Conan is actually a lot of fun. plays like a dungeon crawler and has a unique feel to it. And as far as looks, it looks awesome.

You can check out DND Online for free right now.

Warhammer Online has an amazing feel and they nailed the looks of the game. I really love this game, I just wish more people played it. I'd be happy to play with you if you sign up. I can't afford it right now, but if you give me a referral i'll get a free month to play with you. Same goes for almost every other MMO, i've played them all.

Feel free to IM me if you wanted to talk about any MMO's and find out more. I really have played all of them, at least the noteworthy ones, and some lesser known ones.

As long as i dont have to pay monthly cause i think thats a waste, im up for any MMO.

How is Guild Wars? No Monthly fee required and the trailer looks good. Anyone played it?

I played GW, I didn't like it. It felt hollow. It just didn't have much of a story of any kind and I didn't feel motivated to do anything in the game. I guess if you get a deal on it, its worth the initial price. But honestly I was really disappointed in that game.

And FYI, any MMO for the most part comes with 1 month free. So if you see one you really want to try out, just look for a good deal, like the Steam deal right now for 50% of MMO's and try it out. You don't have to continue to pay for it after the month free.

Guild Wars might be what you're looking for. I do believe there is a large thread about it and the clan's involvement in it it too!

ive decided until the next elder scrolls, nothing can live up to my love for Oblivion so i have no choice but to play it again...... lol.

Also im not limited to MMo's. If there are any greeat RPGs out there that are single player only im all up for it. In fact, i dont like MMOs that much.

I also started palying FF12 again and got bored of it rather quickly lol.
