My dad never taught me how to ride my bike. I never even got training wheels. He just put me on a full size one and pushed me down a little hill. No joke. Skinned my knee pretty darn good.
I think your doing a little better job at parenting than my dad.

I was really scared of riding my bike with training wheels, and I was the last person in my class (this was before I was homeschooled, so no only person in my class jokes for those of you who knew that ) to learn to ride without them. I actually didn't have a choice; one broke off, then I leaned on the other one so much that it broke off soon after, then I kept going and realized I could ride my bike without training wheels. It was pretty epic.

But my parents didn't get a video of it.

He wears a helmet when he's on my motorcycle... but not riding a bicycle.
I've seen adults wearing helmets when riding bicycles... i just "lol"
