Smashball is a new game that is very fun, I was wondering who else in =(eGO)= plays it.

joe in the future post in the Misc Game Discussion forums please...thanks :)

and yes smashball is pretty fast paced...pretty cool game!

I tried the training, seemed good but the only full server had twelve people and the rest of the servers were empty or locked...

played it, love it.

I can only play goalie good though.

Also, does anyone else have trouble registering an account?

It's very hard to play and laggy sometimes.

Looked boring at first, but after hearing your guyses review I might give it a shot!

Edit: Wow! Small file. 0_0

Yeah, one of the most fast paced games i've ever played. Getting really good at boost/hooking and getting my paths down. My record is a score of 84 pts in the goal as a forward. Hanging around all the public servers. Usually FD/HB.

There seems to be a lot of servers up.

Well, I was playing it within the first few hours of it being released and there were little to no servers that had open slots. :( It is a very challenging game that might take a while to be a pro at. And the lagging is a very bad problem. :facewall:

I tried the tutorial, and I was like "This is really boring!"
I played online, and after, I deleted Smashball.

Ya, I thought so too until i played in a public server and started to get better at it.

The game seems pretty decent so far. Though it would be fun to play with more EGO members.

I love it. Very faced pace, not noob friendly, super fun.

As for the registry it is very hard to register you email verification thing.

Werid, I find it to be one of the most fast paced heart racing games ive played, gives you the same feeling as real sports. Once you get fluid at grappling and boosting right you never touch the ground and can rip through the level. So much fun.

Old School Video General Game Review of smashball

General Overview:
This mod is free requiring HL:2. It is a violent sports game (most similar to Rugby + La Cross). The match consists of 6, 3-minute rounds There is a single ball that each team tries to run or shot into the opponent's goal. Run is act of a player possessing the ball going into the opponent's goal. A shot is when a player shoots the ball from outside the goal into the opponent's goal. Runs are worth 7 points, shots 3. The team with the most points at the end of regulation is the winner. In the event of a tie. One sudden Death match is played lasting 3 minutes. If still tied... well I've never had that happen :E.

There are 4 different positions: Forward (FD), Halfback (HB), Fullback (FB), and Goalie (GO). Each team is allowed one goalie and unlimited amounts of other . Forwards are the quickest and most fragile, Halfbacks are more offensive sturdier but slower Forwards. Fullbacks are defensive and strong but slow. The Goalie isn't that mobile and tends the goal. He is very strong and is really hard to take down.

OSVG's Pros and Cons

Neutral:
Very fast past easily 3x as fast as TF2. May or may not appeal to certain people

Pros:
Unique FPS Sports game.
Plenty of servers (many more than initial launch)
-Although currently bugged, you will earn xp and stats are recorded
A tutorial to give a basic feel for game mechanics

Cons:
Not noob friendly (b/c of this newbies tend to not get the ball)
Buggy (Some random lag issues and crashes) Smashball is still technically considered a beta.
Team stacking occurs frequently
Some weapons spammed get very annoying

There are other things I'm failing to cover but yeah it's just a general review not really in depth.

OSVG's BIAS score: 9.478 / 10
Smashball = TF2 to me fun wise

OSVG's objective score 6.75 / 10
This game has flaws and bugs. It is still in the beta; however, there is promise and it's a truely unique game.
