Fried my graphics card. ;-;

So I'm back from my emergency thing, as it turns out, everything was fine. Flew back yesterday.

However, I seem to have fried my graphics card. >>

So I'm sending it in on Monday. My warranty has (hopefully) not expired, and I'll replace it with an even better card, if possible.

So I'll be out for a couple weeks, most likely. ):
 
How did it fry without you even touching it? Did it just like die from the lack of gaming ;). Hopefully you can get it RMA'd
 
i would be happy if i was you, because u have a reason to change ur graphics i dont :(

I left it on for a couple days idling with SteamStats, but the second I opened TF2, it glitched out and BSOD'd. Now it's affecting my entire card, so I must have done SOMETHING to it. 18+ hours a day with the computer on is bad, especially when 14 of those are spent with TF2. My laptop does not like TF2.

And my power supply is fine.
 
Just go get a new one. And get me one too. I got a C in Alg/II Trig on my report card so my parents aren't going to buy me a new one. *Wink, Wink*
 
I'll get you one, but only if you tell me the length of x if x is a diagonal cut 3/4ths down the side of an 800nm graphics chip, if one side is segmented with nano transistors, and one side consists entirely of USB ports.

SHOULD HAVE DONE BETTER IN ALGEBRA. NEENER NEENER. :D
 
That's not Algebra, that's part geometry, part computer technology, and part gibberish. And I do believe you've just helped in the hi-jacking of your own thread. As you said yourself,

Same is happening to me, my old NVidia 6600 is beginning to burn with this new releases.
 
that stinks that your card fried man but don't worry to much i have fried almost 20 cards in the past 4 years manly due to over clocking contests

got to love BFG tech with there life time warranty XD

i have also fried a lot of cpus and mobos but we wont go there :P
 
I had an NVIDIA 8400GS. But I was running on a laptop, and I don't think the CPU could handle it.

I either need a better video card, or need to learn how to cap the CPU power TF2 takes up. It overheats a lot.
 
The other day, my TF2 framerate crashed like my grades in 8th grade chemistry. I ran ATI Overdrive to see what was going on, and it reported a GPU temp of 105C. I shut down my PC and yanked the video card out, to find the heatsink completely blocked with dust bunnies (yes, ewww). I spent an hour cleaning every last component in my computer cabinet. Thankfully, when I rebooted, my GPU and CPU temps went down and my framerate returned to normal.

I have the same card. It's pretty good... I only have a single core processor, So maybe that's why TF2 slows down quite a bit for me. 8400GS is great though. Or at least, I think so.
 
I've found that stock fans are just not good enough for extended gameplay. If you really wanna get the most out of your GPU / CPU, look into liquid cooling. Sure, it can be pricey, but not nearly as bad as purchasing new video cards.

If liquid cooling just isn't an option for you, at least get some good thermal paste and GPU fan that is beefier than the stock fan.
