I spoke with some folks about the following build on IRC and wanted to see if there were any other opinions:

The other components are covered already. Thanks in advance for any opinions.

You got a solid build there. Definitely won't be dissappointed. Might want to consider AMD if money is a factor, here is what you'd be looking at for savings, with only slight decrease in performance.

The phenom ii 940 obviously is not as great as the i7 920, but i think the price/performance is pretty darn close between the two.

Phenom II X4 940 $189.99 + free shipping

Gigabyte MA-790FX $169.99

G.Skill 4GB DDR2 1066 $54.99 + free shipping

Subtotal: $414.97

Thanks for the responses. I just placed my order and adjusted my RAM to Frank's suggestion.

My total came to $711 with shipping and tax - much better than I originally expected.

The added cost obviously came from the motherboard and RAM compared to the Phenom route. I've used AMD for a long time but would like to see what these i7s are capable of ;).

Everything looks good, +1 for ASUS, + Another 1 for Intel. Id go with Corsair, but OCZ is fine.

Make sure your RAM doesnt exceed 1.65v or you could damage your CPU, just a lil' heads up.
