Black screen

Ok hi everyone.
I was on my computer earlier today playing tf2.
I shut it down normally (start/shut off)

Then when I come back later today, I turn it on, I hear the beep from my mobo (normal), and I see the windows xp bar loading (normal) then when it is done loading I get a completely black screen. It doesn't show the "welcome" sign in blue either. I have tried putting my video card in another slot and it still doesn't work. I am on my sisters computer right now.
So the question is can you help me?

This computer is just driving me insane. Its getting to where i just want to shoot it with my paintball gun then jump repeatedly on it, then run over the remnants with my 6,000 lbs Ford Expedition.

Also I cant boot in safe mode, it get stuck at mud.sys. Ive pressed F8 during startup and I get the boot menu so i cant change my screen res, my refresh rate or set it into VGA mode. My connections to my HDD are fine.

When the screen turns black, after a while do you get a message with something to do with resolution?

No, I just had a black screen, even after I let it sit there for 3 hours. Its at the shop now and ill get it back by friday.

I had that too, once I just unplugged the power cable and replugged it and it worked fine

Have you tried threatening your computer? I believe that computers really do respond to your emotions, and you have to be dominate to the computer. My friends BlackMesaSouth and Featherfoot will tell you that I actually talk to my computers.

Threaten your computer. Bash it on your knee a couple times. Show it who's boss. Whenever there's a problem so weird that nobody has ever heard of it before, I resort to threats. It works more often than not, and especially with the XBox 360.

I had this same problem a few years ago. I ended up booting from my XP/Vista CD, choosing recovery mode command prompt, finding the mud.sys (in system32 i believe) and deleted it. At the time I wasn't sure what the file related to, but I believe it is a nvidia driver file. The computer rebooted just fine after that. I uninstalled/deleted the remaining driver files and then reinstalled them.

Analong/Digital on the upper left corner?

Ok Ive got a new one being built right now so this is not a problem any more, and the HDD died.
