So I was recently informed that RF Online is once again up and running in the US. I just started playing again and i'm hoping to not be alone.

Firstly, Thanks to Peter Griffin for letting me know about this. I have a somewhat unhealthy obsession with this game, and have for quite some time. So anytime anyone wants to play i'm down. Just shoot me a pm and i'll be sure to respond and find you in game.

I'm not that far into anything yet, so i'm open to ideas as far as groups/races. I'm currently playing on the Solus server.

is it f2p now? i played it back in the day when it was p2p... and didnt think it was worth the money, but if its f2p... maybe

Yes it is free.

And it is somewhat of a grindfest. But it has a really cool style and a pretty unique world.

It isn't really new user friendly to be totally honest, but I find myself getting sucked in. Also, the community is pretty nice, and helpful. You can always post on the forums and get a group of people offering to help you out and join them. It is also extremely easy, and fast to level. I played for about 30 minutes just now and went from level 10-16. Also, I was playing a ranged class, leveling a melee character is much faster.

RF means Rising Force. Never did understand why they didn't make the actual title the whole name.

It's visually stunning, but i find the quest system a little confusing and they give you an amazing bow to start out with...which is just stupid, cuz i guess you have to level up your skills, but if you can one shot every monster, what's the point? and are their no like ability points?

I would go back, but the game kind of made me sad from how restricted I felt in PvE as a driver, and I wasn't happy in PvP as anything else.

Yeah I don't understand how they decided to put in that obnoxious bow/dual swords... But there is a different system than most. You gain the new skills by leveling up, and then upgrade those by using them, something I really like about this game.

I've been playing this game since launch back 3 years ago on various diferent servers (private and retail).

I currently have a level 50 Bellato mage on retail server, but after playing RF for 3years, the grind gets quite tedious.

Currently playing on a private server, it has a lesser population than retail, but exp rates are much faster and its a fun server to play the game wtihtout the grind.
