what video card is the best?

The 9600 GT is best. Not by much but it's better
 
You should consider the ATi 4770 instead of the 9600. Better card for the same(~) price. And I'm an nvidia fanboy too.
 
ATI cost 30 bucks more.:)

i think i drive the 9600 gt is better than i run now.

usually the 9800GT is equated to the HD4830, the HD4770 is some what faster than HD4830 thus could possibly regarded as faster than 9800GT.

however while we say FASTER or whatever, 9600GT is VERY close to 9800GT performance, usually said to be around 90% of 9800GT's performance and in many cases doing 95% to 100% of 9800GT's performance.
 
the 4770 is 45nm (me thinks) and it will be cooler and need less juice.

I have just replaced my burned-out 8800GTX with a HIS Radeon 4890 1GB (wanted to buy the 4870 2GB but reconsidered). works very well. maybe I'll even crossfire it in the future.

I just built my new system with Sapphire's Toxic 4890. ...god I love this card.
 
but i will take the 9600 card :) i not have so much money i am a school guy. and no job :)
 
I'd still go for the HD 4770, just to let you know it smokes the 9800 GT and HD 4830 and goes neck to neck with the GTS 250/9800 GTX+ and HD 4850.
 
I use an XFX Nvidia GeForce 9500GT, 512mb. Works great with every thing. Can't beat the price either. I got it for $80 at Bestbuy.
 
i take the 9600 with 1 GB.:)

that will be good to play dods and tf2 on ;)
