Adobe src\win\winfile.cpp-754 error

hi guys. thatnk you for replying.

I have adobe's cs4 (the whole shebang: photoshop, encoder, fireworks, etc.) I am trying to recode a clip in media encoder. every time I start the process it gives me the "src\win\winfile.cpp -754" error followed by the "device\harddisk4\dr4" error. what in the world is going on?

I looked online and apparently I'm not alone with this problem. I could find no solution though. any ideas?

First things first, did you legitimately buy the product? If not, there's your problem.

If you did buy them, sorry for jumping to conclusions. Try googling the error codes and add 'adobe' too it. You'd be surprised how easy it is to find information if you look hard enough.

I am not familiar with the CS4 packages but it only seems like your trying to convert a video from one format to another. I suggest you use a different program to do the conversion. Look at www.download.com for a multitude of free,free to try, or purchace software to help you convert. Pay attention to the ratings of cnet officials and normal users and the number of downloads. The more stars and downloads the better the product is.

Just so you are aware, DVD copying is very border line illegal.(Even for 1 self backup copy) Decypting DVD's is illegal, distributing copies of them is illegal. If your video is not from DVD well...now your aware of what is illegal with DVD's if you didn't know.

-I am not trying to recode a DVD! nor am I destributing. I am trying to recode a movie clip I made ingame to upload to youtube. I was trying to make it HD just for deficating's and giggles.

-also I will say this - I googled the problem and turns out I'm not alone. no solution yet though.:cursing:

ironically, methinks the "no disk" error was right )) rofl this and rofl that. I had my systems' documents folders moved onto another HDD thus methinks the recoder got confused. I returned them to their place and so far I had no errors. though the day is young.

that moving of folders from one place to another is built-in to vista - just right click onto a folder (i.e. documents, music, pictures, etc.) and press properties > location
