Please help!!

Ok, when ever I go to start up Day of Defeat :Source or Team Fortress 2 I get this error...

Steam has found a problem with your local games file. Game files will now be re-acquired from the steam servers.

Then there is an "Ok" button and a "cancel" button. If I press the Ok button it says "Preparing to launch Day of Defeat: Source." then gives me the error again. If I press Cancel it just goes back to my games list.

I googled the error and someone said a solution is to Defrag your game and Verify the files, but after doing that it still doesn't work.:cursing:

I would try to reinstall but I want to know if anyone has a solution.

Go into your Program Files > Steam > Steam Apps and delete multiplayer ob binaries.gcf (or move it to your desktop if you're like me and aren't keen on deleting files like that).

Then all you have to do is restart Steam and launch DoD:S.

I was having the same problem, and this solution worked for me.

Oh and you might want to rename this thread "Problem with Local Game Files" or something similar so others who are browsing can find the solution here. Just a suggestion.

Re-installing is your best bet. Be sure to save your config.cfg first!
