hey guys, i finally received the new screen replacement for a laptop i got from a friend. now im going to try out windows 7 on this laptop. i have two problems.

first is that i have this laptop (or notebook) -

price is over, its not really that much anymore. anyway, it says that it comes with 2gb ram, but its only reading 1gb, what happen? and how can i fix it?

now the second, is that road runner (or time warner, whichever) set up this modem when they did the install in my home -

the tech that came to my house said that i can connect wireless when i asked him i want to connect more computers to it because it only had one Ethernet plug. how in the world can i set up the wireless for my laptop?

thanks in advance guys.

ps - i chatted online with someone at timewarner, and they told me i had to call them in another department, so i rather figure this out here then call them, to much of a hassle most of the time.

1) the quickest way to see what memory is in it, is to pop it open & take a peak. It may be that there is really only 1gb in it, or maybe there is 2 gb sticks, however 1 has gone bad, if that is the case, pop one out, see if it'll boot. If it does then try the other stick. If there is indeed a bad one, just order another if you really want 2gb.

2)If that modem does indeed have wireless built in it should show up in your wireless network window. Look up in your manual about it which should give you the address to get into the modems setup allowing you to change your password & some other options.
