Just saw it. As a old movie buff, and an appreciation for mindless violence, this was an okay. Good explosions, a little long, and robot fights are always awesome. However, if they make a third, I will take a miss

This movie stayed with the plot perfectly. Ugg. I really do hope all these people who are so "OMG IT WAS HORRIBLE" Were joking. If not, I've lost hope in humanity. Even though I already have.

No I was actually being entirely serious when I said it was crap.

In fact, this movie is one of the things that makes me lose hope in humanity.

Here we have a movie, based off of a children's series of toys - and we find ourselves with with a couple racial stereotypes as the only apparent attempt at "humor", a very blatant sex icon who can't go five minutes without getting a camera up her shorts or down her shirt for whatever the hell reason, usage of things like the "b" word, dogs humping one another, an apparent depiction of a robots "balls", a mother high on drug brownie talking about her son getting his cherry popped, etc, etc.

That's absolutely disgraceful, it's supposed to be a children's series of toys/TV show.

And instead, it's become just another filthy, brainless, disgusting "teen" movie - meant for every guy 13+ who thinks it's cool to toss around as many sex jokes as possible - and if you can do it with gansta speak and drugs, while at the same time adding to the objectification of women and an apparent support for ever-crappyier acting - all the better!

Oh, plus, explosions.

And THIS is what makes it a crappy movie. Well, that and the lack of any intelligible plotline. If it were a newly created series of robots, slapped with an R rating, and introduced as such - then fine, by all means. But they're advertising it as an epic adventure film that brings to life the good 'ol family friendly Transformers robots, Optimus Prime and all - and as that, it is a disgrace. Not just to Transformers, but to movies, and the human race.

For all the guys who feel like drinking together and expressing how one-track their minds can be, I'm sure it's a great film. But for people who appreciate more than just "stuff" happening, it falls short.

Real short.

Whenever people wonder about things like why the world's children are reading less, having difficulty telling the time from anything other than their cell phone, and getting pregnant at 12 - I'm pointing them to films like this.

It's a movie.

Exactly, and just as any movie - it has the power to influence a huge amount. Movies give people all sorts of ideas, all sorts of depictions, expectations, feelings, and beliefs.

Schindler's List - an incredible movie that is to some people, the best way of looking at the Holocaust and a particular story surrounding it.

The Shawshank Redemption - A great film, giving a very different feel of a prison-type environment, and a very moving story that for a lot of people can govern the way they feel for the rest of the day.

The Green Mile - The type of movie that can make people question the way the world works as a whole, what justice is, whether miracles are real, what role God plays in life, etc.

Yes, they're just movies. And no, one movie alone isn't enough or at least shouldn't be, reason enough for anyone to change who they are and how they do things. But the fact that our society is FULL of crap like Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, is definately reason for the very noticeable decline.

And just because it's a movie - and it's messages aren't the word of God, doesn't mean when compared to other movies - with good storylines, and meaningful content - that it doesn't fall really, really short.

Granted, this is just my $0.02, and I'm sure plenty of people disagree. But nobody can deny, that a lot of the content from Transformers 2 - wouldn't be allowed to take place or be discussed in any sort of detail in eGO servers, it'd very simply be against our rules for someone in the server to speak of being high off of drugged brownies, or getting their "cherry" popped, or to speak of anything's "private parts", etc, etc. They'd get warned and kicked.

And given that eGO is known to be a "mature" society...

Transformers 2, then, can be interpreted as a very "immature" film.

Which for some people is great.

Just not for me.

Plus, yes it was a children's TV show back then. They've grown up now. This type of humor is what most people find funny nowadays, which is why they've included it. Obviously the producers wanted to include this type of humor because they know it'll make them money.

I thought it was a great movie in terms of mindless fighting, explosions, and animations. And from what I've seen, big mainstream movies like this aren't too focused on the plot.

Actually, I haven't seen a really great movie with a focused plot in a while.

Shawshank Redemption was a great movie. So was Remember the Titans. But some people who think these types of movies are really boring. Most people love action and sex icons.

I don't think they made this movie to be a great multi Oscar winning movies. They made it for money so they wanted to appeal to the biggest audience as possible.

Why are there human characters?
This is a story about giant mechanized aliens fighting an intergalatic civil war that has waged for thousands of years on the awesome machine planets. Why do I care about Shia Lebouf?

I wasn't really that excited when I heard about the new movie, but if it's still using the standards of the first movie then I'll stay out on this one.
Not that the first movie was bad, it was just o.k.

I do agree with some parts of your statement. Concerning the Crude Humor. I didn't find it all that funny, But the rest of the theater did. I just like it cause of the Explosions, and The story they are going with it.

Some parts of the movie are immature, But couldn't you classify every movie (Besides kids movies) to be at least a little immature? In some way, shape, or form, Every movie has it's "Crude Humor". Some of it is mild, while other parts of it are intense.

I liked the movie, For the effects pretty much, the story, and the fact that it has robots. The whole, Loving scene, Crude Humor stuff in it I didn't find funny. It was just the beginning of the movie that had it, So the rest was good.

I know what you mean, and you're right - most movies these days do have at least a little bit of this type of humor in it.

...which is one large reason, that it's very very rare I see movies these days. That's what made the Dark Knight so good, it didn't need any of that to be awesome - it didn't need any of that to make money, either. It was just a genuinely great film. Same with things like V for Vendetta. Great stories, good action, very intelligent - stuff blowing up, but without our would-be porn star, racial stereotypes, and pointless "crude" humor.

It can be done. It's just...a rarity, these days. A shame, but something I've learned to live with. I just wrap myself up in my little bubble with all the good things in the world and let everything else fly right past me.

I watched it on the pre release at 12. It was much better than the first transformers. It stuck more to the transformers roots when the brought "The Fallen" and energon into the movie. It was awesome.
