hl2.exe error on start-up

Is anybody getting any errors on start-up? I just tried verifying my game files, I've restarted my PC and deleted the multiplayer ob binaries file in the steamapps folder.

It just started happening this morning, anybody else having this idea or know of a fix?
 
Does the error just say HL2.exe has encountered an error and needs to shut down?
 
There's a fix that involves deleting a file called "blob", or something like that. But don't go deleting files without being 100%.
 
Should be in tech help.

You can try deleting ClientRegistry.blob from your C:/ProgramFiles/Steam folder.
 
this may not work for u but it had for me try disabling the steam ingame community, it sounds silly for a big error like this but it worked for me
do this:- open steam ---- settings ---- ingame tab ----- and uncheck the (enable steam community ingame) worth the try good luck

Yup... nothing's working. I've reinstalled and everything. I have no clue what could be wrong. I tried all of your fixes and I can't even imagine what's wrong here.

I had this problem about 2 months ago. For about 3 weeks, I tried everything, and nothing worked.

So, I Just completely wiped every file on my computer, Reformatted if you will, and reinstall steam, and the games. Worked fine. I have NO idea why this worked, But it did. This may be the only solution for you. It was for me. Sadly, not the best fix in the world, but nothing else would work. So I had no choice really.

It really stinks to have to reformat, I know, but unless you find another fix, you might have to.
