So i love TF2; everything about it makes it an enjoyable game (as I'm sure we can all agree!!), but there have been a few times when after I kill someone with my pyro, and do the hilarious flamethrower taunt afterwards so my victim gets the freezeframe of my pose, they respawn and say "That kill wasnt worthy of a taunt tazraz"

Am i missing something...? I love the pyro taunts, and the pyro is just a really funny class to play!! I dont mean it to be an "IN YOUR FACE!!!" kind of deal, but rather "look at how goofy the pyro is!!".

what are your views on this? is taunting after a kill really a slap in the face, or just another comical relief element added to TF2?

until then "AURRRrrRrRRrrRR!!" *flame thrower over head*

I only use it when I kill people I know.

I use it as a, "Haha, I killed you." type of thing. It's a joke.

On a side note, I was alone in arena against 4 other people. I killed 3 of them, and the last was a dead ringer spy. I didn't know this. I "killed" him and instantly hit g. A ms after I had hit g I was like "oh crap, you've got to be kidding me." The round hadn't ended. I got backstabbed. I was laughing for like 2 minutes.

I pretty much never taunt a person after a kill, way too much taunting gets me killed way too much, but if it is really necessary, I must do a taunt.

Like a time when an enemy engineer killed a spy, then did the engineer taunt, me uncloacked in front of him, walked around him and stabbed the engineer in the back, then I just had to taunt him.

But maybe 1 out of a 1000 kills I make will be a taunt

haha I like to taunt after i kill all of you eGO's as a friendly "Hello from an e" ;)

I enjoy taunting if I bottle unsuspecting snipers. Kinda like saying: "pay more attention the your surroundings!"
Also, if i'm friends with the player and especially have a small rivalry I might taunt. Especially if it's a nice kill.

ask ToiletPastries about taunts :-)

no taunt no kill!!!!!

I usually only taunt people I know, and with those people I do it all the time just for the fun of it. It's part of the game, though - so do it if you like :-)

I taunt when I kill another sniper while he says
"You better find another use for that head, mate"
I rarely taunt as a spy but I have been know to pull of some amazing taunt kills as it...
I kept taunt killing 1 sniper because he was incredibly dence!
Pyro taunts are awesome if you are in your own base area... if you in the enemies area, you better think twice before taunting...

I usually only taunt kill if it was an awesome display of skill, or just down to the general idiotic play of the guy i just killed. i rarely taunt otherwise.

unless i'm trying to kill with a taunt, because it looks cool, but that rarely works :(

Sometimes the taunt kills can work much better than you'd ever think. Last night in Blackmesa, there was a pack (3 to 4 at its peak) of Heavies running around melee'ing everything they saw and doing the taunt kill. Me, as the cocky Pyro, figured I could farm a bunch of kills, right? Awkwardly, I learned that apparently the taunt kill has just a SMIDGE of range =/ It was pretty hilarious though, good times all around :)

The closest I come to taunting is switching to Sandvich after a kill and taking a bite so The Heavy will whip out a clever line like "Look at these ity-bity-tiny men, running from Sandvich!"

I use taunt if I kill a friend/eGO member or someone who has been camping a spot to kill me.

That's just because he so seldom gets the chance, seeing as I pwn him every time he hits a server!! <cough>
Especially if you're sniping, right? Right. :P
Taunting is fun. I am taunting all the time. After kills, before I get killed, taunt kills, for the lulz, when I'm playing one handed... The list goes on and on! I love taunts. I don't get angry after someone taunts me. Why should I? It's fun!
I'm not even winded! Kaboom! Wave goodbye ta yer head, wanker! :)

I taunt all the time, usually at random times. Escpecially as an Engineer, I'll do the wrenchtaunt next to my sentry during the aborted scoutrush on Turbine, so the dead scout sees me pointlaughing at him as he dies to my sentry gun.

I also use the shotty taunt (hoedown dance) all the time; standing on my dispenser, standing on the point, celebrating a successful end-of-round, etc.

As for taunting after kills... I do that very rarely, and only if the kill deserved it. But my definition of "deserve" is "Did you go away from brain there fore a second?" Like when my cloak runs out before I get behind the sniper and he doesn't look up from the sound. Or when I sap a sentry, and stand on it, and the Engineer ignores me. Or when a Pyro bumps into me cloaked three or four times, then goes around me, and never once lights me on fire. Or when I need the taunting achievements :D

The reason I don't taunt after kills? I've learned that most TF2 players travel in packs, and if I've sniped one, I can get another good shot in the time I would have been taunting :D

Although I do love "no taunt, no kill" during events. It makes the game more chaotic, and more thoughtful. And it disables team-destroying-pyro-runs. As soon as your flamethrower kills the first guy, you have to stop and taunt :D

I actually like when my enemy taunts my death. (1) it makes the killcams cleaner, and (2) it gives my team a bit of bullet-free-time to advance whilst the sniper/heavy/demo is dancing, eating, or drinking.

My point of view is, there is no inapproprite time to taunt... except just after you've grabbed the Intel and you haven't left their base yet, and you're just standing there taunting.

And after the Engineer taunts... the Pyro taunts are my favorite as well.

(I would love it if Valve made it to where if you taunted disguised as a spy that the costumed character would taunt as well. So if I'm an Spy dressed as an Engineer and I taunted, the Engineer would dance through the "cornish game hen" taunt with his wrench :D. Sure, it blows your cover, but if you're taunting, you're not worried about your cover :D)
