So today at FRY's I finally got a new pc!
but i was too cheap to pay for an OS so i decided to use win7
this is where the problems begin
1st it seems as though the video drivers don't work with win7
2nd the wifi card i have doesn't seem to work either so i have no internet
3rd areo affects aren't on, but im guessing thats due to the video drivers not working

sooooo, i was just goining to buy vista which i like wore than 7 anyways

Here are the Specs
case: thermaltake V9 Black edition
Processor: AMD PhenomII x2 550 BE at 3.1ghz
mobo: GIGABYTE ma790x-ud4p
ram: 4gb XMS2 at 1066mhz
hdd: hitachi 1tb
Disk drive: liteon DVD-RW DL
vidcard: Diamond ATI radeon HD 4890 1gb

Just use the Vista drivers. All Vista certified hardware will work with Windows 7.
Also, try doing a Windows Update. It found all mine with out me having to download them.

Just use a wired connection to get on the internet. Then it will download all the drivers for the wifi and Graphics card.

well i tried installing the ATI drivers that came with the card and the device manager still says "standard VGA Graphics Adapter"
and the wifi card doesn't work

Everything should work fine. But theres a big issue. You NEED to update your computer. You can't just install drivers without updating your computer because it won't recognize them. Install the windows updates and then install drivers, that would most likely help.

Yeah i had a problem with my ATI Drivers with Vista too, idk what it is, first of all when i got my PC and installed the drivers it switched my display to be displayed onto 2 monitors for some reason and i kept getting BSOD lol but not bad specs man

I think you can buy Vista with a free Win 7 upgrade when it comes out, so check on that first.

aww man ur a AMD/Raedon guy thats a shame :) jk its all what you like

heres my comp

OS: Windows Xp Pro (64-bit)
Case: Antec 900
Mobo: EVGA 780i

Video Card: EVGA GTX 280
HDD: Western Digital 360 gb
Power Source: Corsair 750w

Now that the windows updates are installed everything is just peachy:biggrin:
the wifi card works so i could go and DL the ATI drivers from thier site and that worked too.

now if i could just get off this 15" screen

Can't really hate it forever because of 1 bad experience.

Also, you REALLY need to get a new monitor, that card is just sobbing because it can't use its full power, there is no reason to have a 4890 1g with that monitor..

this is the same monitor that came with the pentium4 dell i got like ~3 yrs ago

my mom is planning to get a new monitor so i can have her 22"

and now my wifi card stopped working again and i cant get it to work so some help would be appereciated

Great build and the drivers WILL work with Windows 7, update your drivers and it WILL I guarantee it. I have a similar card and run Windows 7 fine. :)

just to calify GPU works fine

wifi card on the other hand does not

this particular card was glichy even in my older system

so im probably going to buy this

yea i <3 my v9 black

the lack of a side window in my opinion is a good thing because they put a 23cm fan in its place

also i moved the wireless router closer to my pc and it works now
