Reverberation Problem.

So i set up my new speakers along with the control box (The stuff that has the volume, bass, treble control) And after i finally get it working, the sound has a wierd kind of reverberation or echo. So i thought the speakers were broken so i plug in my headphones and now they're doing the same thing. Im not sure if iv changed a setting or something but if anyone knows can you tell me, its so bad i cant even put the sound on.
