My R2D2 cake

I made this cake for Spawn's birthday party today. I decided to post it because I'm super proud of it. I know it's not perfect though, but I did it as close as I could. It took FOREVER!!!

Normally I pay a lady to make his cakes, but she was out of town this weekend. Using fondant has always been something I've wanted to try since I tend to enjoy Ace of Cakes and the random Cake competitions on Food Network, so I figured this was a good a time as any.

Only problem now, the family wants me to start making all the cakes. :O

Actually, I used a round cake pan and a bowl. I put the round on the bottom with a layer of frosting then the bowl cake upside down on top. All the silver, blue, and black is fondant.
