EGO Respect on the servers

I am jumping off of a similar thread on the INS forums here, so excuse me if it seems like I'm beating a dead horse! Lol!

Many members have noticed a decline in levels of respect among many ego members in our public servers. For example the other night, two e members tried to solve a dispute in our jail server by saying "we are e members and we know the rules, so shutup" and things like "don't complain, these aren't your servers."

While the intention behind this may be solve disputes or mitigate some kind of effective response to a griefer, tk'r, immaturity, etc., responses along these lines are insulting, disappointing, and reflect our community in a poor manner. I actually had to reprimand these members and was backed up by another admin, but what if we hadn't of been there? We could have public players dropping off of our servers (and potential new members) due to the actions of two misguided and immature ego members. When there are problems on the servers please grab an admin and ALWAYS act with respect when dealing with potential troublemakers. Acting with politeness and respect will always lead to better things than what hostility, name-calling, disrespect, and vulgarity will.

Ego members please maintain high levels of personal responsibility and conduct when in our servers. I issue warnings/kicks to our members without batting an eye because I believe that being a member in this organization does not exempt you from our high standards of personal conduct and ethical values. These values make our organization a strong and respected gaming community and attract many gamers who are sick of the griefing, racism, sexism, disrespect, and immaturity endemic in so many public servers. After all, this is what attracted me to ego in the first place as it surely attracts many others.

This goes for the Tf2 division also? I've seen e's humiliating the clan by acting very rude and non-sporty (showing no sportsmanship)

Nice post either way.
 
Yeah i was just on jail, and the server just went to hell, there was so many e's arguing with everyone else, it's just not fun anymore:glare:

For all intensive purposes =(e)=?'s should not be trying to handle any dispute on the server, but should refer it to a =(eG)=? or (eGO)=?. Because obviously they handled that situation completely wrong by telling people to "shut up" and "don't complain, these aren't your servers" so as a =(eG)=? Leader Bean you should step up and warn them to stop and leave it to admins and to also be respectful to others, even if they are not in =(eGO)=?.
 
I'm bad, cause I always try to play the admin, Like when someone is disrespecting, I warn them, but this is not my job, and I always get warned because of this. :(
 
The thing that sets us apart from other communities is that we respect one another. With disrespect on our servers, we are no better than myg0t.
 
From the the tone of your post Kigen one could be led to believe that you are implying that as an admin I'm not doing my job.

You were not there, you did not see what happened, and I dealt with the situation correctly according to the admins with me, my admin training, and in line with the multitude of posts on these forums. Assumptions make an ass out of you and me. Did I not also mention that I reprimanded them? Add another few sentences to your edit and you will see what I did. I don't mean to be a jerk or anything, jsut thorough.

It only takes 3 seconds for sentences like those to be uttered in a server and I would like to see you respond within 3 seconds of utter chaos in jail. Did I mention that I dropped into the server when this occurred? Or that I was dealing with a group of issues at the time with other admins? Would you like me to provide a second by second account of that ordeal that night? Give me a break. I'd like to see anyone recount events second by second in a quick post like this. Chaos is chaotic in nature. Any further concerns about my individual performance or implied performance can be left in a PM to me or brought to the attention of my DL.

As for this message of this post, it would be nice to see this sentimentality about respecting our clan and putting on a good public front through honesty, respectful behaviour and accountability brought forth by ALL ego members from the newest to the veteran admins. I'm not saying it hasn't been one in the past, and I don't accuse anyone (I tried to keep this post light and friendly but a lack of support for my competence tends to ruffle my feathers) but perhaps we all need a refresher to remember the core values of a large organization like ours.

Keep on gaming and remember the values that have built up this organization to the level of strength we have now!

Yes I remember that, I was there. It did make me angry seeing two fellow members disrespectful to each other.
 
Great post. Anways, e's shouldn't be trying to admin when there are eG's and eGO's on the server

Well, your allowed to warn IF there are no admins present. I did that from time to time when i was still an e.
