EGO Respect on the servers

Hey guys, its fathobo from the INS division that was my post that Leader Bean put on here. I just want to add something.

I believe that eGs and eGOs respect when they see e's speak up. There is a point to where an e can and can't go. Higher ranking members, before they can say something and you get to it, they will hopefully allow you to go and just deal with it.
An example, if you see any disrespectful language or behavior, e's go ahead and warn the person even if there are higher members. Just make sure you get to it first. BUT, do not go over the line. Just say, Please watch the language so and so, thank you. Don't add, if you keep doing this you will be kicked. Because you are now lieing about your powers and going over board. So there is a respectable amount of powers have without getting out of control. So, NEVER EVER THREATEN/LIE, to get something to stop. Just do the typical warning.
Do as much as you can that is in YOUR POWER. Never go over.

oo oo I sometimes when no admins are on tell them that what they are doing is a kickable offence and if it continues i will contact an admin, I think that still falls within the lines. Let me know if i'm outaline

No, thats chill. Cause you said it's a kickable offence so it shows you have no power but you are giving them a warning that they should take in to consideration.

just a word of wisdom from an old member

when i was an admin, back in the day, it was nice to see e's step up and warn someone, and of course staying within their limits. It was especially helpful when all the admins are alive, and e's are dead- something inappropriate is said/done- and the e's either warn immediately or recount the occurrence in admin chat.

as always it is of most importance to be respectful to each other, and to be respectful of the admins, they got it for a reason. We don't need 5 "please watch the language" in a row. but the first one being from an "e", that was fine to me.

I LOVE when e's step up to the plate! This is what distinguishes mature members from immature members! The point of this post was just a reminder to always be respectful and polite even when you think that being a little more aggressive or disrespectful may seem like an "appropriate" response. Always be polite and respectful. ALWAYS.
Let the admins be aggressive and lay down the kicks and bans, that way you can continue with your game and not worry about anyone acting rudely to you!

Lol Replay, why aren't you an admin yet?

From the the tone of your post Kigen one could be led to believe that you are implying that as an admin I'm not doing my job.

You were not there, you did not see what happened, and I dealt with the situation correctly according to the admins with me, my admin training, and in line with the multitude of posts on these forums. Assumptions make an ass out of you and me. Did I not also mention that I reprimanded them? Add another few sentences to your edit and you will see what I did. I don't mean to be a jerk or anything, jsut thorough.

It only takes 3 seconds for sentences like those to be uttered in a server and I would like to see you respond within 3 seconds of utter chaos in jail. Did I mention that I dropped into the server when this occurred? Or that I was dealing with a group of issues at the time with other admins? Would you like me to provide a second by second account of that ordeal that night? Give me a break. I'd like to see anyone recount events second by second in a quick post like this. Chaos is chaotic in nature. Any further concerns about my individual performance or implied performance can be left in a PM to me or brought to the attention of my DL.

As for this message of this post, it would be nice to see this sentimentality about respecting our clan and putting on a good public front through honesty, respectful behaviour and accountability brought forth by ALL ego members from the newest to the veteran admins. I'm not saying it hasn't been one in the past, and I don't accuse anyone (I tried to keep this post light and friendly but a lack of support for my competence tends to ruffle my feathers) but perhaps we all need a refresher to remember the core values of a large organization like ours.

Keep on gaming and remember the values that have built up this organization to the level of strength we have now!
That was also an amazing post. O_O

You my friend are a rarity, you made my day with this post. I agree 100 percent my friend.

ive been seeing =(e)='s being banned more often for racism or to much disrespect its a real problem with them nowdays

very good post bean. i have also just recently notice the decline of many the e's respect to others. why today i have witness it in the jail severs. i think the e's that join now only join because of the 'free admin' and do not read the rules.

e's that join have to read the rules and to those that have already read the rules, reread them again.

i hate to have to use admin powers on people, especially if they are representing this community.

we have to stop this in its tracks, so lets all work together on this.

and again, good post bean, spoken like a true eGO member.

This goes for the Tf2 division also? I've seen e's humiliating the clan by acting very rude and non-sporty (showing no sportsmanship)

Nice post either way.

This goes for ALL divisions, everywhere. Just because it is a different game doesn't mean it's a different eGO. Standards are just that: standards - applied across the spectrum of Edgegamers.

An example, if you see any disrespectful language or behavior, e's go ahead and warn the person even if there are higher members. Just make sure you get to it first.

While your post does have good intentions, we want e's to follow the rules, be good sports and watch (key word) how the admins handle situations. An e should not attempt to admin. Leadership has made this clear.

Agreed Jubei! While e members may want to help out, always keep an eye out for an admin. Let the admins deal with the problem people, because chances are we're already on it, chatting about that person to come to a consensus, deferring to an ego for a ban, or in the process of kicking/warning ourselves.

Alot of the time I use psay messages to warn people because I don't want to embarrass anyone by publicly making the problem known a) because it's embarrassing and/or that person may act out, and b) it might encourage further behaviour from others that lightly skirt the issue or repeat the issue (which happens to be damn annoying to an admin already dealing with issues).

Therefore, even though someone acts out on the servers, there is a good chance that an admin present is already dealing with the issue and most members may not be aware of this until the point that that person is kicked/banned. AND FOR THE LOVE OF ZEUS, do not ask the admins why they kicked/banned someone, it is extremely annoying especially when the admin took the time to make everything as private as possible. Keep on playing in your gaming bliss!

I try my best to be respectful to eGO members and all others alike. I try my hardest not to say offensive things and I never just tell people to shut it because I'm an (e).

On a related note, I just got banned for an hour due to admin disrespect. It's all legit on the admins' parts, I was just peeved.

I got booted without warning for saying it was "gay" when a CT was camping at :30 on office. This was during the second last round, where I was ranked 1st and would have got another gold medal.

Booted = FBG stats lost = no medal.

Then the admins warned some guy before doing anything when he said "da F werd", which set me off. I asked why I got kicked and lost my stats, while he only got a warning (considering what I said was - in my opinion - much less inappropriate). I guess using block caps and repeating said "EFF WORD" was not a good idea. BAM! Admin disrespect. I said sorryu, but was banned right after. :(

I feel like a bad person. /cry

I was once banned for 2 weeks, because i was being disrespectful, i was playing jail and we all know how jail can get, luckily you were banned for only 1 hour, i was for 2 weeks :P

e's don't need to be warned, because they are supposed to know the rules.

eg's and ego's should definitely know better.

E's tend to have action taken against them faster than normal members because they are expected to know the rules and up hold them while pubbers on the hand don't know them.

An e's first and only warning was the welcome post given to them (you know, the one with all the links) in their recruitment post. Given that e's represent eGO, we expect and require them to follow the rules to the letter.

I will go out of my way to help any member (especially an e) in any way possible. On the other hand, I will go out of my way to make sure that what we stand for is upheld on our servers. Leadership as entrusted the admins to make sure the servers run smoothly, and I've given them my word that I will do that to the best of my ability. If that means pulling the trigger on a member, well a promise is a promise. I don't go looking for trouble (none of us should), but if I'm there then I'll take care of it (or make sure it is being taken care of).
