Code for $100 off, TEYFY09, making the total around $250 (plus tax).

For those who don't know what this is - you get a copy of every OS Microsoft has (except Win2K). 10 copies of the desktop OSs, 1 copy of the server OSs. Also includes 10 copies of Office, SQL Server, etc. Retail versions, not VLK, so missing the enterprise versions of the Server software.

Can't use it in a prod environment, but for many of us who have a small pile of machines for personal use, this is the way to go. Code looks to expire 7/3.

Careful with this - how MS defines 'for evaluation' might not line up with what you think. Its a bit gray.

Plus, I believe this is a per-year subscription, and I believe your license to 'evaluate' the software is linked to this subscription. So, if you kept it on your machine and don't renew, you'd be breaking the agreement.

I can't find the hard EULA text that describes this, but be warned.

You do need to get your keys and download the ISO images before the year expires. Most of the restrictions are around using the OS in a production environment - no setting up a commercial exchange server, etc. You cannot resell the licenses ala OEM and try to build systems for others.

Once the year expires, the installed OS continue to run as normal. Not sure if they say if the keys will no longer activate or not. In the past, it looks like the keys continue to activate.

And god help you if you ever post your keys on the net...

For most folks who are no longer in school, but thinking of dropping a hundred bucks on an XP updgrade to Win7, this is a great option.

I have a MSDN account. I get every microsoft software for free. even stuff in beta.
