Thirty Six Rules of Fighting - The Guide

Hello all, you might not know, but I used to be a guidewriter for Gamereplays.org TF2.

Ever since the portal closed, I saved all the guides I wrote, and have revised them, here's a guide I wrote called Thirty-Six Rules.

Thirty-Six Rules covers what I feel are the most important basic techniques in the game which are most often ignored, such as standing on the point and reloading.

These basic techniques are so important, but are so often forgotten as well, that's what led me to write the guide.

The guide is targeted at both beginner and intermediate players, and has some stuff for advanced players as well.

Below is a download link for a pdf format, feel free to share it around (it's protected under a creative commons license), enjoy!

Yes! I like! No more running away from the point when it's being capped! Give this man a prize

Cool. It's the kind of common sense people don't really get unless they just take the time to just think about what they're playing and analyze it, which, unfortunately, most gamers aren't willing to do.

So, it's nice to have an easy source for someone who doesn't try to analyze his game to learn about it.

After a little episode on the 2fort server today, I sincerely hope that everybody reads Rule 25, 26, and rule 6.

Two people on the team were convinced that we needed six engineers to defend (four in the intel room), when the enemy grabbed our intel, they said we needed more, and then proceeded to blame our unsupported soldier (me) and demo for not being able to capture the enemy intel.

For the record, the team makeup was 10 players, 2 spies, six engies, 1 soldier, and 1 demo.

Gentlemen, you two are total nutcases, good day. And please, learn to play.

Just finished reading. Those are very good tips. Most people just overlook then.

I know.

And while you were trying to cap the intel. I was the lone engineer defending the BLU base.

Seriously 6 engies at that time?

Yeah, six engies on a team with ten people... kept on getting killed by your after your team kept on forcing me into your SGs range

Wow. I'll look into this when I can actually download it.. damn internet. *hits it with a sledgehammer*

I love these quote things: "I see whut you did thar" - Oscar Wilde
"Would you like spies with that?" ? Michael Moore"

LMAO

Really good guide, a couple of things I didn't really think about (mainly being creative, I have used it sometimes in 2fort sewers, but not alot)

Just to add on #4 Don't jump as a Soldier when your'e fighting a Soldier/Demo. It will only launch you way up high.

I'd love to read it... but I'm lame, you see, and I never download documents that I'm supposed to read. The Web is a document distribution system; I should be able to read it without downloading a file! :D

http://www.scribd.com/

Would be awesome, and as Scribd documents are searchable, more likely to actually be read by people who aren't handed the link :D

I would upload it, but I'm too lazy to make an account to upload it. Just reply if you really want it. :P
