Console

Hi guys. I'm read a few config guides here on the site, and i've also notices that almost everyone has the autosaying "I need ammo" thing. But i can't get up the ingame console, since we have different keyboards in Sweden. Therefore I ask if some swede or someone else knows what buttom you shall click on to get up the console on if you have a swedish keyboard.

Try adding

bind "F10" "toggleconsole"

To your config.cfg file (replace the F10 bind in there). Or whatever key you'd like to use.

Here's another tidbit I found:

First, i couldn't get up console like in old CS. It was cause of my swedish keyboard, many from europe have this problem, with other keyboards. So they just don't bother fixing console. So, let's get to the point: You can't open console with the ? button, but you could in old CS. The reason is the source engine. Don't know what, but it is the Source Engine and the Keyboard.

To fix it, go to: SteamSteamAppsYour Steam Nameday of defeat sourcedodcfg and open config.cfg, add a line that says: bind "" "toggleconsole"

See if it works. Press your ? buttpn (semicolon). Does it not work? Well, if you are trying to open it from the start menu, it doeasn't work. Don't ask me why. Just start a little bot match, try to press it, does it work? It should, but id it doesn't, there is only one other thing i know: make a shortcut to CSS, then right-click it and click on Properties. Then, you can see that it leads to the hl2.exe, but there is an added line: -applaunch 240 or something like that.

Press space, and write: -console

Then fire up the game. The console should appear at startup. You can either save this as you play, and not shut it down, or you can choose to write once again: bind "" "toggleconsole"

Shut console down. Start a server or joina one, press the ? button. Does it work? Nice! If it STILL doesn't work, re-start steam and try again to press ?.

This works for all the source games! Thanks for reading!
