Please people... if you are building a new gaming rig. Do not get Windows Vista. It will be replaced in October by Windows 7. You can also probably still pick up a copy of the RC online that is basically the whole thing. Do not waste your money on a dying OS!!!

Yeah you do have to have vista. I have the X64 version of vista, really do not have any problems with it at all. The 6 gigs of ram might help abit too.

Sorry to spoil the fun here but you're posting a thread just to buy it. What do you base yourself on that Windows 7 is better then Vista ? Give a quick review ?

Quick review would take me pages. But basically Microsoft does this with their OS's. For example, Windows ME was awful, but XP was great. Vista was a joke. 7 is here to right the wrongs done by Vista. And I am willing to forgive.

Just give some points about what is better then vista then ? I'm really lost on that. To me it's just another fancier vista.

Theres tones of reasons why 7 is better than Vista, first, it uses ram more efficiently. Meaning they run like gold on a laptop.....unlike Vista (eww*). They've even tested Windows 7 on a PC that was originally built for XP Professional and it ran much more smoothly than expected.

Then you got UI, more than half of the UI you see on screen (taskbars, if bars, windows, ect) is customizable in both reaction and look.

bottom line imo, if you do not have the money, but have enough of a computer to run vista, stick with vista.
