a must read for all =(e)=,=(eG)=,=(eGo)=

Good link, Matt. When you wear the tag, you're responsible for your actions within the context of the clan, and everyone should remember this. After all, you are representing the community and all we stand for.

Edgegamers organisation = Mature Gaming Community/Organisation. This kind of attitude isn't what we need here our on non eGO servers.
First, anybody who join eGO shouldn't play just to get promotion in the rank...I think that when you join eGO first, you want to join bunch of friend that like games and to have fun between there members and other player that play the games. Second, the only way to get higher in the rank if it is your goal here is to get usefull to the community by a positive way.

Has you said Gremlin, recruit should and have to read the rules! This community his great and obeying the rules is the way to keep it like it should be.

Agreed...But I reacted when you wrote "=(e)='s think before you act because what you do effect's all of us."...You could have put that up better since eg's and ego's also should think before acting, other than that i agree with you.

I think you guys will all learn in time that this is not new news and has been said over and over. Promotions come in due time and if you have been in the clan for a year or more without a promotion, then there is a reason for it. I was part of the conversation between gremlin and the "e" and it was the normal "oh i should have a promotion by now" stuff. After further conversing with the e i figured out he was not actively attending any events, nor active on ventrilo.

Just another example of someone thinking they should get a promotion when its not quite time yet.

Another topic of discusssion was Avalanche field promotions, which I know more and more e's are feeling negative towards. Its true that almost anyone can get promoted with a field promotion. Some people get their "g" two weeks into being an "e" while some e's have to wait months, even years in few cases. Honestly its hard for me to give an explination for this scenario other than those who dont deserve the field promotions will have them taken from them.

Basically if e's are active on forums (and I dont mean vizier kane active :P), active in-game, attending events, not taking long extended "breaks", and more importantly active on ventrilo, promotions will come when they are deserved.

For any e's reading this please take this information into consideration. If you are only playing the game and not interacting with the community, then no, promotions will not come quickly. Just reread the promotions rules and tips and keep being active. AND STOP ASKING FOR PROMOS!!!:chair:

this is pretty much implanted in my head by now. LOL. It has been said a billion times

And i hope it continues to be said, so all the new members can read.

I too have been in a game recently and an =(e)= had asked why he hadn't got promoted yet. Power of eG comes in time and givin when and where it is needed/due. =(e)='s need to calm down and try not to rush the process. If you are doing the community right and good you will be noticed and rewarded for it.

Even if your just an =(e)= your still an admin, like me when I see a situation I always get a report on to the admins that are on the server, if no admins are there, what I do I write a report that you can see in the request ban section and explain the situations, easy to do type status in console, bring in the steam ID and after write the situation just as it happened, note: I only do it when the player is really breaking the rules, but that's only when I cannot contact any admins. So basically everbody is an admin even if you don't have any admin powers, you can still admin like that as an =(e)= .

In conclusion, you don't need a promotion to be an admin, you're already one but with not admining power, but whit time and dedication eventually you will get a promotion and get the admining powers...

Amazing how one =e= can cause such a camotion about stuff, now this might seem like im tryign to suck sympathy outa this but ive been in ego for about a year and 2 monthes now and i havend been pramoted. Why is this because i live with both my parents across the continent so i could only play when i was at my dads in the summer winter break and spring break.

Now that i have my new computer i can play for logn periods of time and when im at my moms. i know that i have what it takes to be eg to ego but i know it takes time so im not going to suckle the teat of an admin of an upper to get it i will let them do there job and exept it for what it is :)

This works pretty closely to a workplace environment. If you go to your job and ask to be part of the management team, and upon getting turned down, you throw a hissy fit, you just terminated your career. You will never advance. The reason why? If you can't handle the pressure of not getting a position, then you most certainly cannot handle the responsibility of that position.

As for the previously posted thread about playing on non-eGO servers, this is a common sense matter. It was thoroughly covered, but I'd like to add my two cents: If you act like a punk on a different server, you will be treated the same way by the pubs or others that witnessed it here. You destroy your credibility by not staying true to yourself.

The bottom line is this: Be who you are, all the time. Consistency and professionalism will get you a long way, both here and in the real world. If you want to be promoted, be the best you that you can be.

This can be quoted for truth.

However, time passes. New threads are added. Old threads scroll to the dark recesses of the forums. New members join. How many of you have ever gone back and read threads from before you joined? Those of you who have should perhaps get a life.

These threads need to be posted again. Not resurrected from the past but put forward by fresh minds. We all bring something different to EdgeGamers. We all need to be reminded of our core values from time to time. If for no other reason than to know that our fellows share them.

So keep 'em coming.

Thanks for the reminder.
