[Two Listen]

...this isn't going to be what you typically see here in this section. But I felt like posting it anyway to give people an idea of what I do - now as a hobby, but hopefully in the near future, as a career.

I do concept art, a lot of digital painting primarily in photoshop. Using a WACOM Intuos 3, 9x12 at the moment - and I'd never been able to paint at very high resolutions or sizes up until this past week or so having built a new system. I'm still getting things set up with it, but I'm very excited and so I figured I'd post some of my stuff from the past and lead up and update into some things for the future.

I don't typically do signatures and that type of thing, I've never been a huge fan of "graphic design" and what not - I stick to painting things from scratch, but obviously - have done several signatures and the like in the past. I might post some in the event that I get back into it.

That's what I'll post for now. I'm not as good as I'm sure I can be, but I try my best to balance my artwork with my fiance, gaming, job, etc.

Go ahead and let me know what you think, in the event that it interests you at all.

nice i wish i could work with colour like that but at that point i get lost so i pretty much just stick to my charcoal and pencils.

you did the the top one and the ones near the bottom with the tablet and painted colour and textures right is there a way to make the tablet react to pressure like pencils or charcoal

Just about any WACOM tablet has several thousands of levels of pressure sensitivity, as well as tilt sensitivity, and various other things. It acts essentially as a traditional medium, except with the capability of less mess, and multiple layers.

The only things not done entirely digitally via a tablet, is anything with a white background. Everything else was done from start to finish on a blank canvas in photoshop. I've created several brushes specifically for the look of a basic pencil lead, which lets me sketch out the initial idea and then paint over it.

Yeah man, you can definitely make a career out of doing that kind of stuff. You have a very good idea of how to make and use lighting in your paintings - something many people struggle to do well. Also you seem to be doing well with your character development. Having gone to school with people who have gone to with with Pixar and ILM, I know that you could do that stuff if you really wanted.

It is pretty depressing, but the simple fact of the matter, is that most of the people out there - just don't give a damn. Which is tough, when you're trying to get your stuff out there. Or even just trying to find some people who'll chat with you about it.

The key though, I think, is to not do artwork for the sake of response, popularity, or getting noticed. But to do it because you enjoy it, and because you have a good idea to portray. If you need more than that, you're probably not going to get anywhere.

ok thanks alot for actually creating i never really got into any digital methods iv always stuck to traditional methods but it sound like i can use my same methods plus have the ability to reuse textures that i make to speed things up a bit.

which kinda a tablet do you use pen on screen or just a normal tablet
