It's pretty good--but I would suggest using white text or something similar. It's somewhat hard to read the red.

good start but you should change the text colour and typeface and also do something with the gun like angle it a bit because Mario hand isn't pointing straight across and also try to put some of Mario's hand over the pistol grip like use the clone tool or something to paint parts of the hand onto the pistol grip.

you should try to find a typeface similar to the M on Mario's hat and the brown from his shoes or the white from the gloves for the text colour

Blend in the render more, and make the render your focal. Meaning, make it so the eye automatically draws to the render and not the text or background immediately. Just apply the whole image so you're avatar becomes 1 in 1 layer, but still with the other layers showing, Sharpen it, erase around the render but keep the render sharpened. and Bam.

Also work on the text.
