I have an old wooden desk our uncle gave us for Christmas in 2000. The drawer on it that holds the keyboard is falling apart. There's duct tape on one side holding the wheel track on, and the rails are severely bend out of shape. My keyboard tends to fall off onto the floor once in a while, and the drawer smashes into the tile below. Luckily it only landed on my foot once, and it hurt really bad. I say luckily because it falls off a lot.
For my chair I used an old office desk chair we found next to a dumpster with some worn fabric. The other computer has a nicer synthetic leather office chair. I recommend any chair with the solid leather back(it's not in two pieces), like you see in an office setting, and make sure it leans back a bit with springs, also make sure you have arm rests, since that seems to give you optimum comfortability (I realize that isn't a word, but work with me) The only thing annoying about my setup is the desk is too low, so I have to have my chair lowered all the way down, and some chairs don't fit under it with their arm rests. I also have a bit of trouble resting my arms on the arm rests of this chair and typing ergonomically, so I have wrist issues. Probably not too good, but my wrists physically can't touch any sort of pad in front of the keyboard because it's too low. It's close to sitting on my lap.
Also one more Caveat make sure you're keyboard wire is long enough if you have a sliding drawer for the keyboard. Otherwise it sits half way under the desk like mine, and you have to pull it out diagonally to play, and it sits awkwardly half on the drawer and half off. I have gotten used to it, but I imagine some people couldn't stand it.
