Is this a decent card for its price?

I need a serious upgrade from my XFX 8600 GT XXX ed. card. It's dying, and number of people have problems with the crappy fan (noise/cooling ratio, etc)

I'm looking at an eVGA 8800 GTS (G92) card. It's $114 Canadian. I don't really want to spend a lot of money, and I only have $90 so far. I'm gonna get a loan from my parents for this. Do you guys think it's a good card for the money? I really don't want to spend anymore because well..I'm kind of cheap.

Do I have any other options within that price range of $110-130, in Canadian?

I've had the card for about 2 years, with my proccesor I pretty much play every game in ~70 fps +. Get like 40-50 fps in crysis on very high w/o AA

The 8800 GTS is still an excellent card. Personally I would spend 20-30 more dollars and get something even better, but if you're really strapped for cash its fine.

Thanks for the suggestions, guys. I'm going to go for the 8800GTS. I've made a phone-call to my local TD retail store, and they do not have it. However, they are ordering a card for me which will be available to me to purchase in 2 weeks time.

I got my eVGA 8800GT for $139 CAD and I run most games at 100+ FPS.

I have 2x EVGA 8800GTS G92's that im looking at selling soon as a pair if your interested in going SLi

I could give you a good deal ?

:)

8800 is a decent card
Good enough for gaming
Anything past X600 was mainly built for gaming (in the nVidia range anyway)
Not too keen on the price
I have the 9500 for about the same...
