Hey, I was on the server last night, and its one of my favorite servers to play on, the only thing that I dont like about it is that it shows who/when you kill someone. I think that one of the best things about insurgency is the realism factor, and for me, being able to see that you killed someone takes a lot of the fun out of the game. In my opionion I think that you should take it off, so you cant see who you killed, or when someone dies. It's hard to find servers that dont show kills anymore. If anyone else agrees with me on this, reply. Thanks!

Hey, thanks for stopping by and signing up Cookie. I'll stand by you on this one like I said last night. I enjoy playing on the more realism based side of INS as well.

I can't speak for the administration, but eGO is always expanding and growing and INS is a relatively new division. Right now, our servers all have a very well placed following, in part (or more, who knows) to the way that they are currently set up. Most likely, that setup isn't going to change, but as the INS division continues to evolve, it may be possible to have a setup such as a full realism server as an addition later on.

In the meantime, if you'd like to help grow toward that goal, feel free to stop by our recruitment office, http://edgegamers.org/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=743 we're always looking for new members with new ideas.

why having a number of servers is good.

Like maybe 2 rotations, and a 3rd realism option. Reduced waves, but more ewaves, and perhaps no announces etc.

i like knowing who i killed. its awesome to see....

"EpIc fAiL killed
"EpIc fAiL killed
"EpIc fAiL killed
"EpIc fAiL killed
"EpIc fAiL killed

i mean this is a video game, its not really suppose to be realistic.
i dont see how it takes away anyways, not like it shows u where u got shot from.

If you nuke a building you won't know if you got the guy inside or not, so you'd probably be more cautious while entering. Or, if an enemy is leaning around the corner, sometimes it's tough to see if you shot them, or if they are just hiding around the corner reloading or something.

I like having the kill messages. Not having them is fun, but I only prefer that in scrims.

i agree with the realism idea, but on the other servers, i think we should be able to see how much damage we did and what was done to us.

Kill messages were installed solely for the popularity of them. If we want successful and fun servers, they have to stay full. For the most part, vanilla playing tends to be a very small minority of gamers and we need to appeal to as many as we can. As NADES said, it would be good if we have lots of servers and one can be original content only.

Originally (since January '09) our servers did not have kill messages enabled for pubs, but admins could see them to catch any abusive players. I figure, if there is to be a vanilla only server, it would be nice if admins also didn't see them and that the death messages could show up in the console. This way if an admin wanted to check he can but no one has any advantage based on rank.

Now, I personally don't care either way. As long as all our servers are 32/32, configurations must be right.
