Need help aiming?

Two years in eGO and your 14th post ever was to call me a dork. GG

i tried that mouse reduction thing, and it's giving me a headache. i know i need to get used to it,bbut if im already adjusted to the acceleration, how is it limiting my potential?

Cic, you should see if alpha-one is giving "scout aiming" lessons, he might be able to help you.

Well my mouse was at 7, not 6. But you can increase the speed in game to get the same movement but it won't skip pixels. You'll understand if you read those sections. Also I unchecked that pointer precision thing and that helps, after an hour or so of playing I noticed my movements were more fluid. I just need to get used to it... hopefully in time for my next match.

You can run, but it's so very true :crying:

Turning off mouse acceleration? I might need some cold hard facts with that one. The ability to increase my turning speed on a dim based on how fast I moved my mouse is one ability I don't want to lose.True I might not be able to precisely turn 100 degrees when I turn 2 inches every time but it means I won't have to keep hitting my keyboard if I want to keep turning left to chase that scout.

I have tried to get used to my low sensitivity settings, it seems to work good. 1.4 for most classes, 1.3 for scout, and 1.1 for sniper. I'm happy with it so far, but every few months i try a new setting to see how it feels, and always go back to this one.

See... I put my computer mouse settings at 6... but in-game I have my mouse sensitivity at 12. Now I use a generic Microsoft mouse, so I don't know how that compares to other people's settings.

thanks, I'll have to try these things out sometime. Good find.

On another, more funny, note: Did you guys see the first comment?
I learned from soccer that if you do good, it's all you, if you do bad it's the shoes.

Do these conditions work in gaming too?

Heh, so true.

Heh, so true.

It's like when I played in band in 5th grade. I NEVER practiced and whenever I sounded 'off' in class or concerts, I would just look at my trombone like there was something wrong with it.

"Oh, I'm a great piano player. This piano just decides to go out of tune sometimes and then fixes itself somehow."

Used that one before.

Anyway, gonna need a snack to read through all of this.

I'm not sure I agree with the FPS capping, i've played both ways and my aim was the same.

I use a razor copperhead. I think its set at 5 or so with 8000dpi (i think).

In game at that setting before change the game one, its super quick, to quick for me anyways, so the ingame is set really low and it works for me. Sometimes it takes an extra flick to turn all the way around, but I got used to it. Might be a hitch though, I probably should try something else and get used to the quickness instead of what I have now.

One thing I'd like to add is that when playing as scout, people miss a lot because they think they need to be constantly firing and expect their poorly-aimed shots to magically hit. Just be patient, line it up, and fire. Don't worry about firing both shots in rapid succession with the FaN either if you don't have the shot lined up right. :)
