MechWarrior To Be Distributed Free On BattleTech.com
In honor of BattleTech?s 25th anniversary, Smith & Tinker has authorized MekTek.net and MekTek Studios to distribute MechWarrior 4 (along with its expansion packs) completely free. For years, MekTek.net has been the central point for online distribution of MechWarrior 4 expansion packs. Now they can provide the core game free to the fans as well. Wow. thats awesome! thanks for the heads up! I loved these games when I was younger. While I prefer Armored Core, MW was really sick. And a few of my teachers in my 3D classes worked on that Living Legends Crysis mod.

You mean Mech Commander? Yeah I played through Mech Commander 2 a long time ago, it was pretty fun.

This is a cool announcement. I bought a gold version of the game 3-4 years ago for only $20. Maybe we'll get a fun little group playing!
 
Oh wow, I remember playing the Mechwarrior series back way back when. This looks awesome!
 
Awesome deal, nothing's cheaper than free! Is it online by chance? Would love to play against some eGOs?
 
Played all the mechwarrior and mech commander games. I may just have some time for this once again. Sidewinder FFB pro ftw!
 
I never did get that much into Mech 4, I was a big clanner back during Mech 3. It was great, we'd have wars almost every freking night. It seemed like when Mech 4 rolled out the online community really took a nose dive. I may just have to check this out.
 
I first started playing MechWarrior when it was on the PS1, it was MechWarrior 2 to be exact. I just cannot express my love towards this game, it's too much to explain!

I was playing this game when I was about 12 or so. Played it all the time. Actually my brother just started playing it, its been awhile, might be time to start up again (once I can take it from him).
 
I never played MechWarrior myself. I guess this is a chance to download it and hopefully play it with some eGO!
 
Agreed, anyone want to set up a big meetup for online gaming? :D Would love to play the expansions, and the original, I didn't get to play Black Knight or Vengeance, I only played Mercenaries, oh lord, Mechwarrior is so awesome D:
