Is there a page with the Tf2 server rules that someone could direct me to? Because I've just learned how to double sticky jump over to enemy battlements and I don't want to spawn camp if that is against the rules.

Thanks in advance.

Sorry, just found the rules page on the server. I'm really sorry for this pointless post, I should of looked harder.

Yes, spawn camping is allowed. Its considered a strategy! So go go demo sticky camping! haha have fun!

In TF2, there really is no such thing as "spawn camping" per se. Spawn camping is killing people right as they spawn, and you can't really do that in TF2. What you can do is camp the spawn exits, which is fine, because an organized team will just build a push, uber if necessary, and tear the camper apart. So camping the spawn doors is fine, good luck!

FYI - also called "Spawn Controlling"

I've seen the term "spawn camping" used for killing people through the fences in dustbowl before the round begins.

Although I don't personally use that term myself per-say. I think it's all in good strategy to control their spawn flow to the front lines.

As of late when we have two-three ubers, we'll have 1-2 take out their sentries and clear the people off the point while the other goes and keeps them inside their spawn(particularly good with a pyro or a heavy if I may say so myself.) So that they can't get to the cap and protect it.

All in good strategy I say.

You can also call it "limiting the gene pool" if you want, of the ones who rush out 6 times in a row thinking, "maybe he left or something" and ending up with the same result.

*dies from sniper*
Oh he's probably gone now. *runs around corner and dies again, same guy*
Oh.. 2nd time, he's definately gone. *dies from SAME sniper*
..*cycle continues.*

I like to call it:

"My chance to backstab a Medic and Heavy just before they get to pop their uber...."
You can hear the disappointment across the interwebz....:);):O:crying:

No matter what it is frustrating to get killed right out of the spawn door. Even if it is just once. I won't do it because I think it isn't encouraging playing the game for fun. Some new people don't understand that people will camp the entrance and that ruins their expierence.

I don't know if this is the same thing, but when I play on the xbox version of tf2, people can force there way into the enemy spawn room by shooting at the door while running through. It's more than likely against the rules, but i just wanted to know if you could do it on the PC. that's always what i thought about when i hear "spawn camping". i hate it when people do that.

Let's put it this way, if your team sucks enough to allow the enemy team to spawncamp you, you DESERVE to be camped

In other words, if you allow a demoman or engineer to go through your front lines alive, then you deserve to be spawn camped.

I actually was able to build sentries in front of their spawn door, because the opposing team is busy concentrating on somewhere else.
