New mouse

Ok, i have $60 and was wondering whats the best corded gaming mouse i could get. I have vista on my computer. I am looking at the logitech g5. I have heard and read that this is a good mouse for gaming but wanted to get some more info from my fellow clan members.

I would cheek out the Razer Death Adder. I am left handed but they build one of the best neutral mouses I have ever used for photo art (now gaming) They should be around the $50 range. A great mouse IMO

I would also suggest the Death Adder...
But don't get it from BestBuy or anything...
Go online to ebay. They're like $20 cheaper online than compared to BestBuy. It's insane.
I got my first one at BestBuy for I think $65 (tax incl) ... it broke because I was misusing it during transport, (didn't unplug it and it bent 90 degrees at the USB port) but then I got my other one online... was like $45 (incl shipping) ...

There's a lot of suggestions and great mice out there...
Some people hate Razor, others don't ... I don't hate them yet because I haven't had any problems

I haven't tried the famed Death Adder, but I have one of the 2nd gen Logitech G5s and love it.

I think most people that invest money into any gaming mouse are typically happy.
I didn't get the Death Adder because of all the advertising and the "leetness" of it because it seemed so popular. Frankly I like being unique and not have things others have.
I simply got the Death Adder because it 1)Was fairly top-end mouse 2)Matches my new PC I'm getting (and have been wanting for a while) 3)Has 5 buttons, I had one with 3 for the past year and I wanted a couple more...

I would get the Death Adder if I were you. There's too much hype over the G5, and to be honest, I don't really like it. I've also heard the cable breaks a lot. Personally, I have the G9, and I love it so far. It just seems really awkward to hold at first. It's a bit more expensive though.

I was actually going to go a Razor Death Adder, but instead, I got a great deal on my G9.

I currently use a Steelseries Qck mouse pad, and I've got to tell you, yes, it makes a difference. And plus, I would rather spend an extra $15 or so for extra smooth mouse gliding and it also slows down the wear on your mouse feet.

I would go for the MX518. Sweet little piece of equipment. and you will need a mousepad if you want optimal gaming. I have a combo of MX518 and razer exactmat and they truly pawn!

Yes that would be the mousepad.
I've been planning on getting one for a while, but I keep forgetting!

I simply have been using my Death Adder on a wooden desktop... I've heard so many things about these mousepads, I just keep forgetting or don't have money at the time!

I use a G5 and a razer exactmat it's been working very well for me for a couple years now.

I would definitely check out both options in-store before you buy. I have used both a MX518 and G5 and I thought that they were incredibly wonderful mice. I have used razer mice and I found that I was not a big fan of their slim and sleek profile (I have small girly hands).

It's definitely a personal decision but regardless razer and logitech produce great mice so you can't really go wrong either way.
