Puff n Sting ftw'
Flare sniping is really fun, and airblast is so funny and really effective can't give it up... plus you can put out your teammates. Yet, there seems to be a lot of pyros that don't know this and stare at me while im burning.

Flamethrower, shotgun, and Axetinguisher.
I really don't see the point of the Flaregun, even with the buff, because its real-life DPS isn't nearly as large, it's far more situational, and it's useless underwater, meaning the only thing you'd have left would be your axe.
The Axetinguisher is for taking out Soldiers and Fatties, of course.

Don't be lonely, be angry... Why? I don't know.
Do what you feel is the best way for you to play.
If I'm trying,
Flamethrower
Shotgun
Axetinguisher.
Sometimes if I'm goofing off on Blackmesa or if there's too many snipers I'll go to flaregun and ignite them, otherwise it's best to flame someone until you run and pump them with 2-3 shotgun blasts.

)I just stick with the Flamethrower, Shotty, and Axtinguisher.
Not using the Shotty seems to have hurt me more than the Flare gun ever helped me.
I haven't used BB in a while cause I rarely Pyro lately, however if I did I would switch here and there depending on what I thought it might be useful for. Properly deciding between the two is situational.
If I were a true Airblast provocateur I might decide to use Flamethrower exclusively. Until then I use what I can to help correct my noobitis.

I can kill people up close with my flamethrower, it's for people that are trying to run away. Plus flarensniping medics annoy them.

Flamethrower, shotgun, and Axetinguisher. Frankly, if you play with anything else, odds are that you don't know how to play Pyro very well (with some exceptions, of course, but this is generally the case). :P

I like Backburner because mainly when I play pyro Im an ambusher, so the free behind crits are lovely. And I usually get ubered - When we have a couple spare medics since I play medic alot Ill switch to pyro or demo and usually get a medic buddy to uber me, SNEEKY SNEEKY PIERO!
I like the Shotgun because it's good for finishing people off, larger clip size than the flare and does more damage on the spot.
And Axe is always fun, come up to a zoomed sniper, light him on fire, hit 3 and hit him once is awesome. And during humilation it's a fun one as well =D.
