asus laptops

Hey guys i think ima buy an asus laptop and was wondering if anyone has had experience with them before. ive read both good and bad reviews about them but i was wondering how you guys liked them

A friend of mine has one and has been very satisfied with it until he accidentally cracked his screen when he closed the laptop with his headphones in it.

My friend has one as well, I love it just as must he does. Im going to be getting one when I sell my laptop.

Very sturdy and reliable, but ASUS is known for that.

I'm looking at buying one as well from asus, any recommendations as far as a model? has to be something easily portable (student use) and reasonably powerful, but discrete graphics are not a requirement.

K decided between a few laptops, but am wondering if there is a major difference between the NVIDIA GeForce GT 120M and the 1024MB DDR3 nVIDIA GT 240M

List of notebook gpu benchmarks

Looks like the 240 has more pixel shaders, but it says both can play all games on high settings, except for crysis and gta4.

I like ASUS hardware, I don;t know who is making their shell, but I would imagine the hardware would be decent

I don't have anything from them, but from what I hear they make good quality products. One of my friends has a Eee pc, and his mom liked it so much she got one for herself.

so the new nv 240's are benchmarked lower than the 9800s? thats odd...

I have one of there Eee PCS 11 inch. Really fun to just mess around on, play starcraft and older games. Use it mainly for taking notes and things.

But yeah, ASUS make good laptops.
