play pyro a lot??? well, throw away your backburner, buds! did you know that your air-compression blast can put out the flames on a fellow teammate? it's like having an extra medic on the team, and when there is no medic in the vicinity, it can turn the tide and make the difference in a great offensive and an effective defense...
your compression blast can also separate an uber and his medic. yes, indeed, it's a handy item in the pyro's bag of tricks...
one thing to note though...it will deplete your "energy" after a few blasts...you might want to review the use of your secondary weapon when it does.
compression blast is a valuable team-tool in the right hands. don't underestimate it.

yeah its good to air compress your team mates fi they are on fire, also if there is a medic its good to seperate the medic from the other guy.

yes, this can be VERY usefull.. too bad most pyro's either dont know, or dont care to use it.
worst thing is when you die from burning right next to a pyro with a reg. flamethrower

ya i noticed that one day and i must say it is extremely useful, if ur into helping out your team mates that is. sometimes, i "forget" to cuz i only got like 40 ammo left.

i prefer to throw pee at my teammates who are on fire.

Win! But in all seriousness I have only been extinguished with a flamethrower once and it saved my life. If you didn't know about this, please use this new information to your advantage! :) I do!

Pyros have evolved from a overpowered/underpowered (depending on your opinion) ambush class to an ambush class with caretaker duties around the base.

There is no better Spy-checker than the Pyro. C&D Spies harassing your Engies' buildings? Do a quick sweep. Your flamethrower's range is so wide and fast that there's no way a C&D Spy could outrun it if you have a generally good idea as to where the Spy may be.

Explosives harassing your teammates and their buildings? Airblast them away.

Single-minded uber rushing in? Airblast them away.

Friendly guys on fire? Airblast their fire away.

Snipers constantly headshotting your teammates as they cross a point? Cover them with your flame: it's very hard to get a clean shot with a bunch of randomized flames blocking your view.

A good housekeeping Pyro is a great presence to have around the base to take care of the minute-to-minute problems which may occur: they're fast, have relatively high DPSes, and their airblast gives them a number of solutions to a problem.

You forgot another important trait. There high priority as they approach the enemy + their expendibility accounts for a good distraction while you get away.

I play Pyro a lot and I've switched back to the level 1 thrower with compression.
I didn't realize all the uses for compression blasts! More flaming goodness for me to play with :)

I never have to worry about dying from burning. I pretty much always have a Medic on me (at Gravel Pit anyway).

I love standing there infront of a pyro with him watching me burn. Then I ask for them to put me out and they go...what?

I love it even more when that thing happens to me, but it's a medic.

Anyway, the problem is that your ammo goes very low if you keep airblasting people.

There is ammo literally EVERYWHERE, you can spare the extra ammo to save a teammates life. Plus it gives you HLX points.

It shouldn't give one point in HLX. It should give more to encourage teamwork :).
But yeah it is very handy for the team abnd can turn the tide of battle by putting out a medic who is about to die.
