"filename.exe" is not a valid win32 application

Asi wrote in the subject i get an error everytime I try to open a file, patch, windows skin etc. Does anyone know how to solve the problem. I do not think that the files are damaged since ive tried to open more than 30 files and i always get the error "filename.exe" is not a valid win32 application"

Try right clicking the application, selecting properties, then compatibility, and check 'Run this program in compatibility for".

give some examples of the files you are trying to open. Specify the entire filename. For example - if you download the lastest version of firefox from mozilla.com do you get this error?
