Locking up

My computer locks up during intense graphics (e.g. games). Would this most likely be the graphics card or the mobo?

I expect the graphics card, but that's expensive and de-warrantied . So, second question... if the graphics card, would it be the drivers or hardware? There are never any error events in the logs.

Let me get your opinions. And I might need to buy a graphics card, so if any of you have an extra laying around that you might sell, let me know.

What are you system specs?

and what video card do you have? and is the warranty voided due to something like overclocking or something different?

I've got 3800+ X2, 2GB of Corsair XMS, DFI Lanparty MOBO cfx-3200, x1900xtx (been overclocked and aftermarket HSF), Antec 500W NeoHE PSU.

Card was overclocked, but I reverted the clock settings to help fix the issue. So far, that hasn't helped at all.

yikes - good job at spending too much money. Your CPU is bottlenecking your graphics card But anyways


There are a couple of important questions - How long does it take to lock up?
What happens to your FPS when this happens? Net_Graph 3
What temperature is your CPU and GPU when playing the game?.
Which drivers version are you using?
OS?
