My slow build round 2

Ok so i am building my first real rig a little bit at a time and i am ready for round 2 of buying parts. In round one i got:

Coolermaster Centurion 5 and Coolermaster 600W power suply

AND

G.Skill 4GB DDR2 1066

Both parts i stole from another build post. How does this look for round two of buying?

AMD Phenom II X4 940 Deneb 3.0GHz Socket AM2+ 125W Quad-Core Black Edition Processor Model HDZ940XCGIBOX

GIGABYTE GA-MA790X-UD4P AM3/AM2+/AM2 AMD 790X ATX AMD Motherboard

I will be able to put that RAM in this Mother bord right?

Dont laugh i am very new at the computer building thing lol.
 
yeah, i have that motherboard too, and lemme tell ya, its a great motherboard.

just gotta ask though, are you looking to run crossfire?
 
Your PSU should handle a up to a single HD 4890 fine.
And yes the RAM will work in that motherboard.

I most likely wont crossfire no, but does anyone know a good Video card that will mesh well with this setup? Preferably like a 1Gig dealy.

absolutely best deal for the money right now......i would also recommend overclocking this GPU as it is very overclock friendly and make sure to buy an aftermarket cooler so u can achieve even higher speeds.

Yes that cpu motherboard and ram will all work together. I would have opted for a Corei7 but thats out of the question i guess, found i7 at microcenter for only 200 dollars versus 280. But u already got DDR2 ram and i7 requires u to go DDR3 and plus the mobo's out right now for i7 are very expensive so stick with AMD. You would probably pay a little over 100-200 dollars more going with the i7 + mobo + ram.
 
As I said a HD 4890 should be very good for a while. It has GDDR5 and 1GB of VRAM too. :)
