Help me (wierd port)

Here is a pic of this EXTREMELY annoying proprietery dell port. It is very blurry, but both connections are 4 pin, the bottom a general USB and the top a weird re-sized power only port. What can I do to make this straight USB? Even 2 usbs would be good with me.View attachment 1361

It's a very blurry picture. What model laptop is this? Do they have a term for the connection?

I'm going to guess that it's the e-sata/usb combo port. I think you're stuck with it.

If you've got a macro on your camera, try to retake that picture, it really doesn't help

You might be able to Google a picture of it by looking up your laptop model or on the manufacturer's website.

Anyways...

I'm with Crowbar. I've seen a few newer laptops, especially Toshibas, with external e-Sata ports lately.

is it a new(er) laptop? might be the new 'display port' that's being introduced. (my laptop has it, too.) right now it's not worth anything (hardly any monitors/tv's support it yet) but it's going to take the place of (supposedly) dvi ports.
