L4D - Masterpiece's map

My only critique is that if this were to be a final I much more rather be forced to go through the offices or something to get up higher in the build because I could just run up the stairs with a bunch of guys kill everything easily and press the explosion pump. Which I don't know if this is incorporated ,but if there's only one entrance to the roof then it would be too easy. Other then that I think it looks better then some of the maps the actual makers made for it ^_^ good luck if you need a tester I'm always down for it.

There is about 4 pipes (forgot how it's called) around the building and the infected can climb them. I think I might add some other floors that you can't go in but the infected can come out, to make things a little bit harder. I'm not sure If I will keep the starting radio where it is, I still haven't tested the map so I can't tell what will work/will need to be changed. I could place the radio on the lower floors but then again people might not want to run to the roof and just stay where they are. I will need to think about it.

EDIT: I am considering removing any ammo/health packs from the roof, just to discourage people camping on it.... but I can't really tell without testing. Don't forget that if a tank get to you and he throw you off, it's game over for you :)

Update- I think I found a way to prevent ladder camping, here's a picture. I placed a smoker on each spots and he was actually able to pull me off the ladder.

Infected can climb it up

Hole added for infected to be able to go outside along with another "windows washing thingie"

I improved the explosion, I will keep that little surprise when I will release the map.

I also created a poster, tell me what you think of it! Stay tuned, the first playable version should be ready in few days! :)

Just a small update on the current status - The map is now fully playable, all it needs is some fixes to prevent easy spots camping and bugs. I also updated the poster, and I expect the first release to be made in the next few days, if not tommorow.

WOOT finally, I have been waiting days for you to get that vpk up. Congrats on finishing it, I cant wait to test it out properly !!

Hi Masterpiece, I am rather impressed by the map.

Very nicely put together. I have found that lift camping is really easy. I used the lift to go up and then stairs to the roof.

Trigger the event and then ran back down to the lift. Cleared a few zombies and got back in the lift. I pushed all three buttons from top to bottom in sequence and it ended up that the lift doors did not open back up again. As a result even playing with bots means unlimited time. Althougth you do need to keep back from the doors as a tank managed to get itself wedged halfway through the doors.

Thanks for the feedback prentle. I did not mention it on the forums, but I did on the l4d maps website, I am putting together and update fixing lag issues ( it is horrible in multiplayer) and locking the elevator doors when the finale is started. I'm also trying to make it so survivors get hut if they try to stay in the elevator while someone else is pushing the finale button. I was supposed to release it yesterday, but after testing it, I am gonna try to tweak it a bit again. I hope I can release it today so people can actually enjoy it online without lagging and making it unplayable!

Perhaps a nice touch would be a sign near the event activation warning that lifts will go down following activation, or saying that pushing the lever will cause elevator failure.

I don't know how hard that would be to add.

I will think about about....maybe consider removing all electricity... I will look for possible ideas a bit later!
