SORRY FOR THE LONG WAIT, I HAD TROUBLES WITH THE VPK. PLEASE GIVE ME FEEDBACKS ON IT, AND TELL ALL YOUR FRIENDS TO HAVE A LOOK AT IT! YOU CAN DOWNLOAD THE MAP HERE
THANKS.

I think the other thread got deleted when the l4d sub-forums got removed...so here we go again. Gonna make this short, I've been working on a l4d survival map for a couple of months now (with a lot of breaks) but I decided to do a lot of things lately on it. This is my first serious map, and I wanted to share a video of it to get some feedbacks. I know, it's not done, the rooms are empty but I'm gonna change this soon. I saw few bugs in that video that I will to correct too.

Thanks for watching it and I would really appreciate feedback.

P.S. Sorry there is no sound....I will need to look into that later too...yay!

wow. HUGE map! I'm worried about fps issues, have you had a problem? Looks like a ton of fun!

It looks like a possibly nice map.
I'm not too sure that I like how incredibly big the building is... it's a lot of running and such...

Just make sure you test the map accordingly, and then edit the ups AND downs of it...
There could be some really nice things your map has, and also some really bad things.
I wish you the best of luck! I used to make scenarios for Age of Empires II: Age of Kings ... that was like 3-5 years ago, and it would take me DAYS upon DAYS to do that stuff... and now with the graphics and everything else, I don't care to learn that stuff anymore ;) Nice job.

I really would like to see this map. I think that dark-room on the higher floors won't be used, as it's nice to see the zombies coming! I just hope that when your map gets released, there isn't any "easy" spots which allow people to exploit it. I played "Crane" yesterday for the first time and they were exploiting it for the easy GOLD. I'd rather accomplish it!

Thanks for the feedback. I haven't tested this version with zombies yet, I prefer waiting until I have about everything settled up before doing all the nav work, which might be long before it is perfectly polished. The lightning you seen in the map is something I did really quick just to get an idea. I cannot promise that the map won't have any easy spots (because people will always find one) but I will do my best to remove them ( for example, I will disable the elevator when the game will start) I decided to do only few floors to restrain how huge the map would be, but it might still be a problem from what I hear. Do not expect something perfect like valve's survival maps, but I will try my best to make this enjoyable for everyone. I wanted to give a lot of posibilities for the survivors...I hope I didn't add too many :\

Oh and The Yeti, I didn't have any fps problems with the map yet. As soon as I get a playable version, I will post it so you guys can try it!

More feedback would be really appreciated, thanks! I hope I'm not wasting my time making this map!

Bump - Added a video showing the breakable walls spots. Those might change, but you get the basic idea.

I just realised that you only needed to post the link to embed the videos....I feel dumb now.... !

I must say, I like the use of lighting aswell. Good to hear no fps trouble. If you would like help testing this I may be of some assistance.

I will take any help I can get when it comes to testing :) As for the lightning, as I said previously, I only threw some light entities in the map to be able to see the map. It will obviously need some improvement but for now this is what I have. I'm happy with the result so far, I never thought it would end up like that! I created this thread to get feedbacks because making a map is a long and hard process ( I went through so many errors that I got used and stopped "ragequitting" the hammer editor !) and I will stop right now if people think this is not good enough. If you have free time, please watch the videos and add your comments/feeling about this. If you have any questions, pm me or ask here. I think I've said the word feedback enough times now so I will stop!

*I forgot to add, to make things a little spicy, I will add holes in the ceilings where the infected will be able to come from.*

I've allways found it fun to have like some floors break around sertan time's so it shakes up the game play. I play unstable, and thats allways a killer for me when the floor breaks apart and i am stranded trying to get back up.

It looks pretty impressive but imo most maps make the grade in the actual play of them. This map looks very promising. I am more than happy to help play test once you have the navs done.

Very awesome map.
I like what you did to start the horde, the explosion was pro-like, except for a few missing textures.
ALSO, I honestly do believe that ladder will be a problem, cause survivors will MORE than likely just stay on the ladder so they can't be attacked. Nothing can reach them on the ladder, except maybe tank rocks.
Even a smoker can't reach them if the survivors are towards the middle of the ladder.

EDIT: I will love to test that with you anytime.

Haha I didn't think about that ladder bug... I will need to look into that...but who the hell would stay on a ladder and wait for like...10 minutes...?!?! That's pointless! But I wouldn't be surprised if people would do it. I will consider removing it/finding a way to counter this problem.

Wow this looks pretty good. It woukld be a great map for a team that works well together. If you need any help testing when it comes to fighting the zombies just let me know. I'm starting to get bored with the standard maps.

People will do anything to win... sadly.

You have to come to right person my Friend.
To get rid of loser kids who stay on the ladder, I suggest you place more of these things near the ladder
pjun164l.jpg

I don't know what they're called, all I know is that they're used for washing windows on tall buildings.
But yeah, with these, smokers will be able to drag them down and such and hunters will do easy pounces.
Just a suggestion though :)

Thanks, and I will think about it Allster. I should be able to finish adding objetcs in the rooms today or tommorow. Then, I will do the nav work and we'll see what's the result ;)

I really like the windows and the breakable walls that you have put in since the last time I saw the map, although dont put too many breakable walls, it look like you done a lot of them.. I do like the idea of the floor or ceiling collapsing in places. This map has a lot of promise and you have come leaps and bounds since the last time I saw it. I am very much looking forward, to the next look around :) I am anxious to see the end result, I know how much time, energy and frustration you have put in to it and its taking great shape !!
