Any other music players than Itunes?

Ive been adding songs to my Itunes for almost 3 years now. 2 times Ive had to restart my library because of viruses and everything, but the last time that happened to me was about 1 and a half years ago but iTunes says the first sogn that i added was in January, which definitely isnt true.

For some reason iTunes just deletes random songs from my library. When i go to listen to them Im disappointed that they're deleted, and i dont know why

My question is is there any other program you can use to store your music? I love the interface of itunes, but when they're deleting songs that i buy it gets pretty annoying.


and i tried googling the solution and Im not the only one with this problem, and i dont think there's anything you can do but back up your itunes

Its free, Instant and comes only at the cost of having to listen to 1 15 second advert every 20 minutes.

No one is going to agree with me: But Windows Media Player 11 has never failed me. iTunes seems slow and the orginization isn't as good... I only really use WinAmp if I absolutely CANNOT get a file to run in WMP (Very rare, sometimes .ogg's and .flacs don't want to work, but they still usually do work for me.) and my organization/playlists are a lot better managed..

Sam,
I am not saying this is what happened to you, but, if you find that you are trying to play a song in iTunes and it says "hey, I can't find it. Let's look for it?" (or whatever the actual wording is, but you know the message), it can mean that the song was moved from its original location.
I am sure that is obvious to you.

Where my (hopefully) relevant comment comes in is here:
That used to happen to me ALL the time. It stopped happening when I decided to let it be, and allow the songs to be imported into the correct default itunes folder and "let itunes keep my collection organized".
Once I did that, even if I moved stuff around from my temp downloads folder to another drive or whatever, itunes already had a copy where it's supposed to go.

The downside is:
If i really don't want a song, I gotta make sure I nuke it from within itunes.

The upside is:
Now I don't have to worry about using itunes to back up to disc. I just grab the whole darn directory and copy it to the now-cheap 1TB storage and backup drive.

I hope this wasn't a waste of a read, but I don't know if you had tried this before.
