What have you learned?

In my opinion, one of the best things about TF2 is how different each class plays and how each one ties into one another. So, how has playing one class helped you out, or taught you something about another?

For example, I play alot of spy, but playing spy has taught me how to be a great spy-checker. So, I can play a half-way decent engie or pyro. I know where I would be and who I would be going for, so I can stop those spies before they strike. Also, playing as a sniper has greatly improved my accuracy in all the other classes.

ive learned the same as well as anticipating other players movements from playing soldier and demoman

it's a good tactic. you just have to get used to the class, so it requires a fair old bit of input. I used to hate scouts, but since i've played scout it is a pretty damn good class to learn on and i've definitely learned some of the better techniques to counter it. it's a good idea over-all, it just takes a bit of time, watching in spectator can help as well, and is very useful.

Playing pyro helped me learn to anticipate enemy strafing (helps for soldier rockets) and movement in general, and especially while on fire. Also helped me learn footwork, be it strafing, jumping or dodging. Thanks to a burning desire to get close to enemies, playing pyro has also helped me find little jumping paths and better judgement when jumping.

I've learned how a spy reacts when discovered and all their hiding spots based on which tool they are using.

I've learned how to dodge with all classes by playing the scout.

I've learned that sometimes, you're just not supposed to be good by playing the demo =(

I've learned how to fight while being airblasted/rocketed/etc. by using the FAN

I've learned how to be a good melee swinger by playing the sniper... ...

And most importantly, I've learned that the shotgun is a tool not to be underestimated by playing the pyro. After learning this, my soldier, engi, and a little heavy talent jumped greatly.

Playing engineer has taught me how to be a good spy checker. You tend to chase down people who seem to pass by your sentry more than once. Also its playing on 2Fort has made me a lazy engineer sometimes just chilling in spawn waiting for a sap or attack.

I've learned quantum physics and basic computer engineering thanks to rocket jumping and sentry-building.

I actually sort of applied what I learned from fighting games and squad mechanics from Starsiege to TF2.

So yeah, I actually haven't learned anything from TF2.

Playing Demoman thought me that playing Engi sucks when the enemy Demoman has some brains.
