How to request an Admin?

Hi everyone,

I was just on the dust2 server, and it turns out that there were a couple hackers there. At first, it all seemed alright until they started having 20-0 scores, at which point, about 15 people starting switching to spectate them, and I did, too, thinking that I should at least try to see if they might've been right. I didn't see anything too out of the ordinary, and there was an eGO there who said nothing was wrong and to stop the accusations. Then he left, and the hackers started bunny hopping around and making a lot of prediction shots, and it was pretty clear to me that they were, in fact, hacking. I thought, hey, I should call an Admin here, but, to my disgruntlement, I didn't know how. I don't use Ventrilo too often, much less in-game, and I'm not friends with any eGOs on Steam so I kinda just sat there recording a demo. Eventually, two eGO's came and banned their guilty butts so it was all good in the end. I was just wondering if there was any way I could call Admins to check out these kind of things if it should happen again?

You can always add the Admins to your friends list on Steam. That would be your best bet. If there is no one on just go to spec without saying anything and record a demo. Then go to the Request Ban forum and fill out it proper.

Several ways, like Jarrod said you can always add an admin to your friends list. Ventrilo is also a good way, they're always admins in there, if neither works you can always post in the shoutbox. If you choose the shout box I do not recommend posting OMG OMG H4XAORZ IN DUST EVERYONE BAN HIM !!! A simple CS:S Dust2 could use an admin would be sufficient.

If all else fails you can get a demo and request a ban.

There are several ways to get into contact with admins.


Add a bunch to your friends list. Even if you don't know them, stick them on in case of things like this.


Jump onto ventrilo and ask for an admin in one of the channels.


Go onto IRC and request an admin there.


And if worst comes to worst come onto the forums and post in the shoutbox saying hey come to dust2.


If all of these options fail keep recording your demo and than after they leave, or 15-20 minutes recording come to the forums and post a ban request. Send the demo to the email provided and they will be removed in the future.

Add me, but I'm a no go on the banning part. Then I can always get should of an banning Admin who does all that stuff.

I have not tryed the shoutbox before, but i added alot of admins and they are never on or to busy. Maybe i dont have the right ones.

Can i get a list of admins who play at late night times?

you should get there IP's and pm an admin.

I actually just use the eGO CSS Steam Group to get an admin that is online at the time, because it's usually more reliable than just a few people, in case they are on vacation or whatever.
But having admins on your friends list sounds like a good idea too. heh

Adding EVERYONE to your Steam Friends that's an e-to-eGO member is a great start.
I don't know 1/2 of the people on my friends list too well. But I've got a decent amount of people so that someone's always online when I am.

Easiest way to add eGO members to friends list:
Shift Tab -> Friends -> Players -> Recent Games
I would also suggest you putting an "e" in front of your friends name as well, therefore other people will know you're in the clan and will add you the same way.

Once you've done this, it can also get you recognized more... If you provide them with proof or even hints to such things as hacking it shows you're doing things correctly, as an e.

I would really suggest using Ventrillo. The only reason I'm not using it currently is because my TurtleBeach headset doesn't work with my new rig/vista 64 bit. Ventrillo is another great way to get recognized!

actually i'd say the easiest way to add admins to your friends list, especially since theres a bunch posting in this thread....click on their name, click view public profile. then click on their steam name thingy and click add to friends list

Alright first of all, get an admin. IF there is not an admin on, record a demo for us and make sure you get their steam id and name. Also, when you are done with it, send it to an advisor or a dl. And let them handle it.
