ok i have a picture thats way over size and i wanted to down size it to a format that DoD will accept, perferbaly 256x256, does any one know a program to do that. please i cant find a progam to do that

You can use Paint.NET to resize your picture.

If you can wait a day or two (I just got married and am spending tomorrow night in Minneapolis), I can just resize it for you.

There's lots of programs out there that'll do it for you, just about anything that can edit pictures can resize them. Though I would recommend, depending on how massive it is, sharpen it before you shrink it 500 pixels, sharpen again, shrink - until it reaches the size you want. (And probably crop it beforehand so that you're not wasting space). This a lot of times will help your images to look a lot cleaner and easier to read once you shrink them down. Won't lose all the details.

gimp is prolly one of the best free open source photo editors you will find

and im assuming you want it for a dod spray so save it as a targa *.tga

If you need any help let me know. I am fairly good at resizing/cropping images. :)

Sometimes the image will come out looking squished if a program isn't good at resizing properly. =)

GIMP is good, But the resize scripting is bad in GIMP, It blurs the picture, The pukka resizing effect can be expected only when done with PhotoShop, sad its not fee though ...

When you try both u can feel the difference :)
