Steam crashs for me?

[Everlast]

so, finally get my gpu back, finally get my system back in working order, as as I play some dod:s, bam, error on hl.exe and it closes. I can play for 4-8 min. but it just crashes. wondering what a possible solution could be for this? anyone have this problem?

may just be a steam virus/bug but i cant say for sure.
try reinstalling the game, or updating your graphics card.
If that doesn't work try going into the games proprieties
then click the compatibility, make sure there is a check by " run as administrator.

Hope fully one of those will fix your problem. If not then I would look this up on the steam forums and see if anyone else has had the same problem.

mmm i believe this falls in the tech help catagory but i get the same problem from time to time but all i have to do is try and run the game 2-3 more time and il be fine, try restarting your computer and like spoon said make sure your running as admin

Running as admin., no virus' or spyware (check weekly).

I'm wondering if it is a vista thing, the DEP protection seems to be a pain for a lot of people, and I'm pretty good at tinkering, so I'll try the above suggestions and report back
